A/N: This is just a little one-shot that popped into my head.
DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN NARUTO!
The battle had left them battered, bruised, and barely conscious, but they weren't broken, not anymore. They had yelled, punched, kicked, and used various weapons and jutsus. They had wanted to inflict pain, maybe even kill one another. Their strengths and skills had been evenly matched, but they were completely different. Naruto Uzamaki was bright and blonde; Sasuke Uchiha was dark and vengeful. They'd fought for power, pride, but most of all they fought to prove themselves to each other.
They lay side by side; the sound of their ragged breathing could be heard over the distant roar of the waterfall. Blindly Naruto reached out for the hand of his enemy, the hand of his best friend, the hand of Sasuke Uchiha. Clumsily his tan fingers entwined with Sasuke's pale ones, clutching him with what little strength he had left; Sasuke did the same.
"Does … this mean… that you're coming home… with me…Teme?" Naruto gasped out, his voice rough with abuse.
Sasuke rolled onto his side, facing the blonde who followed suit. They were barely an inch apart, his charcoal eyes locked onto Naruto's bright blue ones that were pleading with him to say yes, the boy was begging him with every fiber of his being.
It was on impulse, an impulse he had felt many times since their first meeting, that the raven haired teen leaned over, closing the distance between them in a swift motion. Their lips were cracked and bloody and the kiss was hardly perfect but that didn't matter; for once they weren't competing, they were communicating in a complexly non-violent way.
"Answer… the question… Teme." Naruto said breaking the kiss.
Sasuke managed to find the energy to smirk, "Yes Dobe, I'm coming home."
It was ironic that the battle that brought them back together took place in the same location that had originally torn them apart, The Valley of the End.
A/N: Hope you enjoyed it!
