Another very short story I wrote some time ago. Hope you enjoy.
It was a grey and rainy day. Connor sat in the ARC doing some paperwork when he looked at his watch. 'Damn, already 11', he thought. He just wanted to go home but he knew that Lester would bite his head off if the report wasn't finished the next day. 'Maybe Abby's going to help me' He thought and decided to finish his work at home, so he packed his things and left the ARC. He got into the car and drove home. Just when he reached the flat, it started to rain harder. "Great", he said sarcastically to himself and got out of the car. Even after the short way from the parking place to the front door he was completely wet.
When he opened the door, he heard giggling voices. One of them was Abby, but who was the other one? He was sure he knew the other girl as well.
He entered the living room and was visible surprised. He saw Abby and Caroline sitting on the sofa talking about some girl stuff.
"What the hell..."
"I met Caroline at the video store, had a conversation and I asked her to watch the film with us." Abby explained hoping Connor wouldn't explode.
"Connor, you look really done. What happened?" Caroline asked smiling at him.
"I think I'm going to bed." He said to the two girls and went upstairs. 'Maybe it would be a good alternative if Lester bite my head off', he thought.
