Bells and Golden Eyes
Chapter 1 – A Pirate's Feeling
Speed.
Agility.
Strength.
Cutting down hundreds of enemies, his Sea Master thrashing back and fourth, blurred.
"See ya." He whispered to the last enemy in sight. Watching them fall one by one gave him joy and a sense of achievement.
A pirate's feeling.
Gan Ning ran cutting down any and all that stood in the way to his brown stallion. Not even breaking a sweat, he jumped onto his horse and galloped away looking for more excitement. He fought through everyone; he would say his little one-liners just before they died so they'd know who had won.
Gan Ning felt silence as he sliced through his final enemy.
"No more, huh?"
He looked around and spotted the heir to Wu, Sun Ce. The Little Conqueror ran over to Gan Ning with a strange, yet serious, expression on his face. Something was wrong.
"Gan Ning, you're bleeding!" Sun Ce yelled, before even reaching Gan Ning.
He looked down. The left side of his stomach was drenched in crimson that covered the bells around his waist. All of the sudden he felt dizzy and his once felt excitement quickly changed to anger.
Sun Ce reached Gan Ning and wrapped his arm around the Pirate; helping him walk to a near by tree stump. Gan Ning sat down with an aggravated thump.
"Let's patch you up, pirate." Sun Ce said with a grin. Gan Ning didn't say a word as Sun Ce began cleaning his wound as best he could.
Wasn't I fast enough?
"Dammit!" Gan Ning exclaimed.
"Calm down. You'll just make it bleed more." Sun Ce said with a sigh. He looked the wound over. It was already bleeding through the new bandages.
"I'm going to need more bandages, but you should be fine for now, princess." Sun Ce laughed and ran to get more bandages.
Gan Ning tried to get him before he ran, but instead he fell off the stump and into another damp puddle of red. He got up and rubbed his arm until the red turned to a faded pink. He then noticed a red silky hat with gold edging right next to the red puddle.
Oh...no. Please…no...
Gan Ning didn't care if he was injured; he picked up the silky hat and started to run.
Please…this can't be his… He knew the owner of the red garment, but didn't want it to be true.
The pirate ran; with his bells ringing with no pause, as fast as he could go. Gan Ning found a white horse lying on its side covered in crimson…dead.
He didn't know where to go or what to do. He collapsed, throwing his fist to the ground in frustration; tired from his injured stomach and aching legs, but he knew he had to keep going.
Gan Ning got to his feet again and started to walk; immediately feeling dizzy yet still his thoughts were unwavering. He walked past the white and crimson horse and saw two Twin Falcon Sabers lying on the other side of the silver stallion. He completely forgot about his injuries when he spotted the pale face of a young general just a few feet from his steed.
Was he ambushed!?
He stepped over the silver stallion, dropped the red garment, and ran to the young, strong-willed, strategist, Lu Xun.
Gan Ning gasped as he looked down at Lu Xun; in his own puddle of blood. The Pirate felt his breath shut off completely when his eyes locked onto the two arrows that pierced Lu Xun's back.
End of Chapter One
(A/N) Re-edited again. Yes I edited it again...and it's sooooo much better now. I think. I really don't know why the first or second copy of this was still so bad, but I fixed and changed a bunch of stuff. I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Please Review. ^_^
