The Prank War - Chapter 1
The Golden Trio walked down the Great Hall and took their seats on the Gryfindor table, it was the last day of school before the Christmas Break. Suddenly an owl swooped down and dropped a letter in front of Hermione.
"Why would my parents send me a letter before Christmas?" Hermione asked.
"Just open it will you?" Ron said with his mouth stuffed with mashed potatoes
My dear Hermione,
I'm very sorry to write this letter to you, but this year, we wont be able to Christmas with Aunt and Uncle in America had suddenly fallen very ill, and there is no one to take care of them, and we think it is too much to ask Mrs. Weasly for you to stay over, so could you please stay over at Hogwarts? We have already contacted your school.
We love you,
Mum and Dad.
Hermione could start to feel tears in her eyes, Christmas without her parents? That would be like summer with rain everyday. She never spent a Christmas without her parents before. Christmas was the time she was back with her family.
"What happend Hermione?" Ginny asked her, but Hermione said nothing and handed her the letter.
"Oh, I'm so sorry, do you want me to talk to one of the professors about letting you stay with us over the break?"
"I dont think that they will let us, but hey, it's worth a try, let's go," Hermione said, as she went over to Dumbledore's office.
"Come in Ms. Granger Ms. Weasly, I assume this is about Christmas?" Dumbledore said as his eye twinkled, like it always does.
"How did you know that Professor Dumbledore?" Ginny asked
"Well, knowing the both you, well, I guess I would know," Dumbledore said with honesty, " Don't worry, I have figured out a solution for you Ms. Granger, and not only will you get company over the Christmas, but you will also get extra credit by promoting House Unity!" Dumbledore explained.
"House Unity Professor?"
"Well, of-course if you would like to stay over at the Weasly for Christmas and loose a chance of being able to earn not only extra credits for youself, but also 300 points for your house,"
Hermione, not only being a bookworm, but also a proud Gryfindor, can not decline Dumbledore's offer, no matter how hard this is. Besides if she can complete this task, it's a gurauntee win for the Gryfindor house this year.
"I'll do it, Professor," Hermione was determined.
"Alright then, Mrs. Weasly, can you keep this task a secret please?"
Ginny nodded.
"Now, as you know, Gryfindors and Slytherins never had the best relationship between the houses, however, I would you to befriend a certain Slytherin over the Christamas Break, and once you come back to school, keep your friendship public and there you go. 300 points for Gryfindor,"
"Well that doesn't sound too bad, who is the Slytherin Professor?"
"Draco Malfoy"
