What I Can Get
A punch here, a jab there, that's what I can get. No hugs, no kisses, nothing but the pain, and I'll take it.
This started as a convenient arrangement, a way to learn how to control my power, but for me it's become so much more. I've started to look forward to the moments on the roof, the beatings I go through, because it's all the contact I can ever expect from him.
All I'll ever get from him. He's too closed off for anything else, and I'm not about to push the issue. I'll take what I can get.
