Notes: The parts in italics are from the scene in the movie, and the parts in the normal style are either from the book or my own mind. I wanted to change what happens because I wanted Harry to feel sorry for Draco, because Draco does deserve some sympathy.
Warning: None really, fighting, I guess, and some blood.
Summary: Harry had never thought he would live to see Draco Malfoy beg for anything. -HBP chapter 24 continuation-

Harry Potter walked into the bathroom and stopped. Harry realized, with a shock so huge it seemed to root him to the spot, that Malfoy was crying – actually crying – tears streaming down his pale face into the grimy basin. Malfoy gasped and gulped and then, with a great shudder, looked up into the cracked mirror and saw Harry staring at him over his shoulder.

"I know what you did Malfoy." Harry said as Malfoy turned around. "You hexed her, didn't you?"

Malfoy drew his wand. Instinctively, Harry pulled out his own. Malfoy's hex missed Harry by inches, hitting the door behind him. Harry flicked his wand, but Malfoy dodged it and headed to the side. Harry followed him and ducked out of the way of another spell. Malfoy shot one last spell at Harry from under the toilet cubicles. Harry ran to meet Malfoy.

"SECTUMSEMPRA!" Harry yelled, waving his wand wildly.

Malfoy let out a little cry as he was flown backwards. Harry stood in frozen shock and fear as he stared at his enemy. Blood spurted from Malfoy's face and chest as though he had been slashed with an invisible sword.

"No----!" gasped Harry, falling to his knees beside Malfoy, who was shaking uncontrollably in a pool of his own blood.

"I didn't mean to, Malfoy, I---"

The door banged open behind Harry and he looked up, terrified: Snape had burst into the room, his face livid. Pushing Harry roughly aside, he knelt over Malfoy, drew his wand. Harry, drenched with water and covered in blood, moved back to give them both room.

"No."

The mumble was so quiet both Snape and Harry looked around in surprise. The sound had come from Malfoy, though his lips had barely moved.

Snape leaned back over Malfoy and raised his wand.

"Stop." Malfoy said, just as quietly.

"What?" Snape asked the tone of surprise in his voice.

"Don't."

Harry looked at his rival, feeling shocked and sympathy for him; the latter something Harry never would have expected.

"I'm not going to let you die." Snape said bitterly.

Harry didn't know if they knew he was still there.

"No." Malfoy whispered.

Now Harry was certain they didn't know he was there. At least, he was certain Malfoy didn't know he was there.

Snape, ignoring Malfoy's sobs and pleads traced it over the deep wounds Harry's curse had made, muttering an incantation that sounded almost like a song.

"Please." Malfoy begged. Harry had never thought he would live to see Draco Malfoy beg for anything.

]The blood flow seemed to ease; Snape wiped the residue from Malfoy's face and repeated his spell. Now the wounds seemed to be knitting.

Malfoy continued to sob and beg for Snape to stop. Now that he regained a bit of his lost blood, he was making a bit more sense, but was speaking only to Snape. Only a few words rose up loud enough for Harry to hear.

"…he…kill…me…can't…let…die…"

When Snape had performed his countercurse for the third time, he half-lifted Malfoy into a standing position.

"You need the hospital wing. There may be a certain amount of scarring, but if you take dittany immediately we might even avoid even that…Come…"

He supported Malfoy across the bathroom, turning at the door to say in a cold fury, "And you, Potter…You wait here for me."

Harry watched as a bunch of different emotions ran through his body and as thoughts swirled around in his mind as the two Slytherins left the destroyed bathroom.
