This is just a little poem that I wrote after I had to do a school assignment. It's based off a poem called "Love in the Time of War" by Yusef Komunyakaa. I will admit, there's a lot I took off of it, but there's a lot that I changed. I hope it makes sense to everyone out there!
Disclaimer: I own neither the poem nor the obvious love between Rukia and Ichigo that Kubo Tite has so cleverly tried to hide.
"Love in the Time of War"
When my hand touches the blade, or
Lingers inside flesh trembling, I leave
Glimpses of myself in the polished hardness.
I surrender skin, blood, sweat, and pain.
The captain lines vibrate, frightened, but
Ready for my resolve.
I touch your face, your breasts, the flower
Holding my world in focus. We give
Ourselves to each other, letting our fears
Slide away. Afterwards, lying there facing
The moon, I touch a jagged scar. Yes,
I'm glad you're alive.
I hope you liked it! Please review, I'd love you forever!
