Loving you

Like I never have before.

And needing you.

The halls of the great Hogwarts castle were always so frigid. A waifish redhead, dark circles under the eyes, pulled a Gryffindor colored scarf tighter around her neck, robes providing little warmth.

Just to open up that door.

And begging you.

Alone and dark in the Astronomy Tower, she willed the boy to follow her. He had many, many times before, just to see if she was okay. To see if she was sleeping now. She wasn't, she had told him so many times before, that sleep would never come.

Might somehow turn the tides.

And tell me to

I've gotta get this off my mind.

He would share his secrets and she would smile. Footfalls nearing the door, and she smiled. He always came to her when she needed to talk.

I never thought I'd be speaking these words,

I never thought I'd need to say.

Another day alone is more than I can take.

He was tall, warm and a source of strength for the small girl. She loved him, and he loved her, yet they could never speak those words. It would always be, she knew, punishable and illegal.

Won't you save me?

Savin's what I need.

I just want to be,

By your side.

Won't you save me?

I don't wanna be,

Just drifting through this sea

of life.

Her dark eyes meeting his light eyes, she smiled. He would always protect her from herself. He knew what she was feeling tonight, the sadness overtaking her normally bright face. Something was wrong, she would never tell him, but he knew.

Won't you,

Listen please.

Baby, don't walk out that door.

I'm on my knees.

You're all I'm living for.

The silence between them is shattered, the blonde boy begging her to stay with him. The pain is too intense, he'd die if he lost her. Tears prick at her eyes, she closes them. Why does he always make her feel this way? She could never hurt him, she never wanted to.

Suddenly the sky is falling

Could it be it's too late for me?

He reaches up, a soft pale hand on her tearstained cheek. The feeling is almost too intense. Embracing the redheaded girl, pulling her close, he knows he can save her.

Won't you save me?

Her heartbeat slows, the anxiety gone. He'll always be there, to catch her when she falls.
