(A/N): Twenty-first request from the ABC meme on LiveJournal.
1. Pick a letter.
2. Pick a prompt that starts with that letter (ex. K is for Keyhole)
3. Pick a fandom / comic / webcomic and a character/pairing.
Leave them in a comment and I'll write a drabble of it. No repeats in letters.
See my profile for what fandoms I'll write.
A- Again // Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's // Crimson Dragon x Signers Introspection
Enjoy!
A is for Again
Cycles were endless. They repeated over and over, again and again, without end. The Crimson Dragon knew this well-it had been caught in one since the initial war.
The day it chose to answer the humans' prayers and seal the evils of the world away was only the beginning. It was bonded to the humans by its promise to protect them eternally.
So, generation after generation, the Dragon would move its Marks, the symbols of its power, from arm to arm, body to body. It contemplated each move like the way the humans had thought out that game...Chess, they called it. It watched as the humans grew and flourished with the interference from the world's evils reduced to a minimum. This was the only form of entertainment it had, moving the marks, following their holders.
And even then, that got wearisome. The Crimson Dragon could do nothing but watch, pop up occasionally if there was some sort of danger, and then go back to watching. So much wait to do so little things...
And even all that was just part of more inevitable waiting-the evils in the earth were gaining strength the longer they slept, and there would come time when they would break free from their prison.
Indeed, that time came, sooner than expected. One of the Dragon's choices seemed to have gotten himself corrupted, and thought that he had the authority to delegate the next successor of one of his marks. If the Dragon could feel such things, it would surely be amused at the human's presumption. As it was, it was merely an unexpected turn of events.
There was no need to worry. Everything was part of a cycle. The gods would be sealed again, inevitably, whether it be during one generation or after many. Let the events play out as they would. There was no need to interfere.
And indeed, the beasts were sealed away once more. The circumstances were out-of-place, to say the least, what with the supposed successor trying to force the Dragon's power to work with it's nemesis-what foolishness!-and a human without the benefits of his powers playing a role in re-sealing them-how strange.
So, the Dragon moved the marks around once more to suit the impromptu whims of the humans, and settled down to watch once more.
The cycle would continue to turn. It would come across hitches, perhaps, or strange quirks, perhaps. But it would still continue to turn forevermore.
There was nothing to do but to wait for the events to repeat themselves again.
(A/N): Like I said in my profile: I AM NO LONGER TAKING REQUESTS. ALL LETTERS HAVE BEEN TAKEN. That being said, a big thank you for all of those who requested!
Review, pretty please?
