"Are they arrive yet?" Asked Erica through walkie talkie.
The security by the front door responded, "By whom you're referring to, miss?"
"The golden invitation card holder?"
"No, not yet. I'll tell you, as soon as they arrive."
Erica turned to her Granny Mika. The old lady immediately understand, when she saw the bittersweet smile on her granddaughter. "They still not coming?" Asked Granny Mika for confirmation. "Do you really gave the invitation to them?"
"I went to the shop and found only a very rude teenager and a man with thick glasses and weird hair. The older man assured, he would gave the card to the owner."
"How about his wife? Do you meet her?"
"The old man said, both of them were visiting their home town and couldn't be reach at that moment."
"Oh... the home town." Granny Mika smiled and nodded. "Finally, they're allowed to return."
The disappointment shown on her granny's face, made Erica mad. The events was held to celebrate her granny's 90th birthday. An important milestones for the matriarch of Tokugawa Hotels Group. They planned it for months. Yet, she can't deliver the one and only her granny's request; To meet the man who means a lot to her.
Another question Erica couldn't answer; how much that man means to Mika-san.
"Every time your granny mentioned the said name, I can see her smiling eyes and glowing face," said Eri, Erica's mother.
"Have you ever meet them?"
"Unfortunately, no. I also looking forward to meet them." Another pressure to Erica.
Suddenly, there's call from the front door, "Miss Erica, the golden invitation card holder have arrived. A white haired man in a white suit, with eggplant hair colour lady in an elegant black dress."
From her grandmother's story, one would assume she was expecting an old couples who need to be assist when walking, as Granny Mika herself just a shy ten years to reach her diamond jubilee. The story how the couples help Granny Mika escaped her abusive and drunkard father. How they help her when she was on the brink of insanity and self destruction. She almost kill herself when she received a slap to the face that brought her back to the reality. A hand to reach when divorced by her first unfaithful husband. A shoulder to cry when her second husband died in an accident. A place to return, when she faced any obstacles too high to climb. They would guide and teach her to bravely face anything. The couples who means a lot to her. Yet, she never introduce them to her family. Not even a picture.
The man who answer the golden card was nothing like they thought. He was a man in his late 30s or early 40s with a bit messy white hair. While the lady accompanying him was so gorgeous that stole all of the attentions.
"Are you the son of Mr. Urahara?" Asked Erica. "I'm Mika's granddaughter."
The question left unanswered. He just nodded and said, "I would like to request an attendance with Mika-san."
The couple appearance, made other guests stirs. "Who's that man?"
Someone answered, "The Golden Card holder."
Gasped, "Is he someone important?"
"I heard he was only a small, old and rundown candy shop owner in a small town. He was not suppose to be here. In our circle."
"Yet, he received Madam's golden card."
"Why?"
"Yes, why?" They scrutinised the couple head to toe, only to find they're blanketed with jealousy as the couple stood elegantly. Far beyond themselves.
As soon as Granny Mika heard about the arrival of her special guest, she almost jumped joyously if not for her bad knee and old age. Like a little girl she once to be, she was smiling ear to ear.
"Hello Mika-chan!" A cheeky greeting by a man who looks half of her ages. Someone might call him rude, but Granny Mika's answer, shocked everyone in the hall.
"Hello father."
