Chapter 1: Welcome to High School

Jake Long and Trixie Carson walked into the big building known to them as high school. They were going to have all new teachers, they would have to learn every inch of the school, and they were going to meet new people.

One might ask, "Where is Spud?" Well, I'll be happy to tell you that he is at home, sick. Unfortunately, this meant that Jake and Trixie were together alone, meaning rumors could spread rather quickly about them. However, if Spud had been there, they would be just a group of friends. So, Jake and Trixie had to avoid walking too close to each other, because they did not want to be seen as a couple.

Trixie and Jake walked into Room 217, Mythobiology. This was the only class the Jake had almost failed in last year. His teacher, Professor Rotwood, was bent on proving that magical creatures existed more than actually finding out about them. So all of Professor Rotwoods theories were wrong. You may ask, "How could theories be wrong? They are only theories." True, they were theories to Professor Rotwood, but magical creatures do indeed exist. This is the sole reason Jake almost failed. He knew the truth about magical creatures, but all of the tests were on Professor Rotwood's theories. If you're wondering, Jake passed only because Professor Rotwood believed he was a dragon. Crazy, huh?

Actually, no. Jake is a dragon. This was one of Professor Rotwoods theories that was actually right. But Jake didn't say that outloud. Only a few humans knew, such as Trixie and Spud. And there were some getting close to finding out, such as Professor Rotwood and the Huntsclan. Let me explain the Huntsclan for you. The Huntsclan is a group of humans who poach magical creatures, such as unicorns and leprechauns. Jake, however, prevents them from doing this, and now the Huntsclan is after him. They're first goal is to find out his human identity, and then they will slay him. Luckily, they haven't found out yet.

Jake and Trixie sat in two empty desks, beside each other of course. Why wouldn't they? They were best friends. Both wondered who their teacher would be. Would it be someone new? Would it be someone who actually knew the material? They hoped the second one was true, at least. Seeing a new face in New York City wasn't uncommon, but as a student, seeing a new teacher was something to look forward to.

The door to the classroom opened, and a few more students came in and sat down. There were two empty seats, one would be for Spud. Finally, the door opened and Jake immediately buried his face into his hands. A muffled, "Why me?" could be heard.

"Good morning class," the teacher began. "My name is..."

Okay, I will post the next chapter when it's done. Got that? Good. Sooooooo...who do YOU think the teacher is? Huh? Please review if you liked it, and if you didn't, still review. Maybe give suggestions on how I could do better. Because I want to be a good writer. Okay?

If I was not clear on something, or you don't understand something, please post it in your review and I'll explain it in the next chapter.

NO FLAMES! They make me cry. Okay? If you don't have anything nice or constructive to say, then don't review. I gladly accept suggestions and constructive criticism, okay? Please tell me if I need to do something better.
