This is really short, but y'know. That's how it goes.

As she padded down the hallway, her feet making a soft, muffled tap-tap-tap as she treaded along, she carefully listened for the musical notes she was longing to hear. But alas, there was not a sound to be heard, except that of her own footsteps. If you're not coming tonight, then I'll go for a walk, she thought huffily to herself as she made her way to the front door. Just as she was about to push through and breathe in the night air, the sound of the piano being played reached her alert ears. She froze, listening carefully to the tune as it flowed through the air to her. Tango tonight, eh? I guess I'll forgive you for being late then. She immediately turned and happily hurried to the piano.
When she reached the vast and immaculately shining music room that housed the instrument she so loved to hear, she paused for a second in the doorway, studying the man performing for her—and only for her—as his fingers flew gracefully across the keys. Oh man, I love you. I love you; I love you! When she could not wait any longer, she scurried into the room.
Oh, how dedicated he was! He did not even notice she was there until she was sitting on top of the lid. God was cruel to have let me think you stood me up tonight, she mused as he caught sight of her. He stopped playing. "And here I thought you wouldn't be joining me tonight."
"Not even death could stop me from coming," she said, but it only came out as a low, echoing meow. But he understood what she meant perfectly. At that point, he began to play again, his pale fingers once again moving deftly across the keys. Her ears twitched slightly as the music began flowing once more. All at once, the lovely sound of the piano filled her and a shiver ran all around her body. She watched as his long, black hair swayed in front of his eyes, relishing the tingles she got from hearing his music. Her tail swished back and forth, and time flew by while she listened without a care in the world.
Before long, it was well past midnight, and the two had to part ways. "Same time tomorrow?" he asked as she hopped down from the piano.
"Meow," was her response. But he knew exactly what she meant by it. Not even death could stop me from coming.
Oh man, oh man, oh man. I finally did it! Okay, so to explain, back in 2010 Kanon Wakeshima's second album was released. On that album, Shoujo Jikake no Libretto: Lolitawork Libretto, there's this song, Kuroneko to Pianist no Tango, and it has got to be one of the cutest songs ever! I feel that way, and I'm not a cat person. At all. But anyway, it was so cute, I had to write a story based off of it. While thinking of the cat's personality, only one person came to mind. And that's how it went. So yeah, hope you enjoyed it!
