Dark Deceiving Madness

Wind, howling. Rain, pounding. Thunder, clapping. Lightning, terrifying.

These are the ingredients that masks a perfect storm. The wind outside is howling, rushing across town at speeds in excess of seventy miles per hour. The rain is pounding shelters and homes alike, almost like a bottomless clip from a sub-machine gun is going off on the roofs. Thunder and lightning, which always go together in a storm such as this one, making their presence known, roaring and tearing the sky into two, even three different sections. Weather like this is what makes I, the author of this story, feel driven to do the following.

The ironic part, while writing this, it's actually snowing outside. Humph...it's March! Wrap up winter already!

But enough about me, for this story isn't even about me! No. This story will delve and plunge into...you know...I'll let you figure that out for yourselves.

Hmm...the setting...

...ahh...I've got it.

All alone, during the middle of the night is where we find him. Not a hero, not a villain, but something else...

By himself tonight because his darling and damsel was elsewhere taking care of some important business, he slept rather uneasily. Ironic, if you ask me, because he shouldn't even be sleeping in the first place; creatures of the night RARELY, if at ALL, sleep during the wonderful and whimsical night. Regardless, he sleeps away, but not soundly.

He dreamt loosely about her...the only one that made a difference in his life. Ever since he laid his eyes on hers that first day, he knew they would spend their lives together.

Now, you might be asking yourself, "Oh, author. Why didn't you say 'the rest of their lives?'" Well, my fellow reader, if you noticed what category this story fell under, you could take a wild guess why I didn't say that.

Go on, I'll listen to your guesses...

...

No guesses? Well then...you'll have to wait a little bit longer before I give you an answer, my reader.

He slept away, dreaming about her. The rain continued pounding outside, while the thunder roared, boomed, and clapped outside. Joining in on the fun, lightning penetrated the sky heavily, lighting it up as if it were midday outside. Still, his eyes were shut and he dreamt about her, her safety, and if she was coming home soon.

Outside his joint home, stood another individual. This one, wearing nothing but a black coat and a dark amulet around their neck, eyed the joint home before looking down at a medium-sized stone. Picking it up, this dark one threw the stone at a window and shattered it to pieces. The thunder provided for some great filler noise as it roared right as the window shattered.

Stepping into the joint home of the sleeping sucker, the intruder looked around, expecting to see some guard some kind of alarm system, but nothing was found. What this intruder didn't know was this home was too new for there to be any kind of guard yet. Not to mention, the occupants could take care of themselves with no trouble at all.

Or so we thought...

The intruder, bags aplenty, started making his way further into the home, looking for the sleeping guy first. Room after room after room after room...where was his bedroom?

Break in dialogue causes an inconsistency with tense and mood and feeling in any story, wouldn't you say? Well, this break has been purposely put here because of reasons.

Well then, a few more spins around in this chair oughta keep me going.

Woo woo! All aboard the express!

Knife stashed in one pocket, spoon stored in another, and the necklace glowing a dark, ominous red color, the bedroom was located by the intruder. Plowing through the closed door like an imbecile would, the intruder was surprised to see that he wasn't in his bed.

Wondering where he went, the intruder smirked when he heard something collide with the ground elsewhere in the home. Slowly approaching the area of triggering sound for some reason, the hunt was on for him.

He was caught between a rock and a hard place, literally. Cornering himself inside his own home? Are you kidding me right now?

Either way, lightning went off and he saw the intruder enter the room, to which he acted as quickly and as quietly as possible. The quickness wasn't something to worry about. The quietness was as he literally made sounds as he moved across the living space and into the foyer. The intruder followed, eventually reaching him in the kitchen and pinning him up against the wall.

He grunted and flailed helplessly as he tried breaking free of the intruder's strong grasp, but it was to no avail. The intruder was far too strong, but surely was dimwitted heavily as he grabbed the spoon that he stored away in his pocket, smacking the helpless *clears throat* dummy with it.

The intruder smacked him with the spoon. Then he did it again. Then again. And again and again and again and again and again and again.

Finally, the pinned brainiac got enough sense in him to teleport away. After all, he had that ability to do so since the start of this...

A break in dialogue again for a moment of applause to our nameless Albert Einstein for finally using his noggin...

…...

Boooooooo...

The intruder threw the spoon at the darkness, nailing Albert Einstein the second in the head, then a light switch, then a chair, and finally, the floor. He approached Thomas Edison Jr. and held him against his will, only to find out that this was a plushie toy of himself. Why our little friend had a plushie of himself is beyond me...

Then, out of left field – literally – daylight shown through the clouds and trickled down in the house, revealing...one of them?

Shade had still masked the intruder in the corner of the room and away from the window, but when they stepped forward, they were revealed to be...a turtle!?

"Behold! I am the legendary Almighty Turtle!"

"Why are you here, turtle?"

"I have come for your soul, Lunar!"

I...I'm sorry...you want me to continue on with this?

Nope...I'm done! I'm so done!

I tried taking this story seriously, but now I can't flipping do that anymore.

So, I'll give you the short synopsis: Turtle takes Lunar's items, there's a scuffle, other things happen, a journey is embarked, and the turtle learns that ponies are love and ponies are life.

Goodbye. *slams door*
