Prologue:
On December 21, 2012, at 3:00 a.m, no one saw it coming. Aliens of pure energy appeared and destroyed almost all of the world's militaries' hi-tech defenses. Using what little technology that worked, armies the world over prepared for a hellish war. The War that began at the solstice would end up being the bloodiest conflict in human history. I, Connor Barron, and my FM-ian friend, Alpha-Xis, became mankind's ace-in-the-hole in this battle for the right to exist.
Chapter 1: The Hero Awakens
Sirens rang throughout the ruined Henderson streets as people of every background tried to escape the incoming alien forces, a cacophony of gunfire drowning their screams. My family and I were amongst the fleeing many. We were running to the nearby military trucks who were picking up as many people as possible before the enemy arrived. Suddenly, an energy blast hit the trucks and triggered an explosion that wiped out a vast amount of people.
"Shit!" My dad swore.
Yellow humanoid aliens appeared, their left arms morphing into Gatling guns. One took aim at us. My dad grabbed his AR-15 and fired at the extraterrestrial. The bullets harmlessly passed through its body. Without warning, the foreign warrior fired and laid waste to my family and strangely, I survived.
I look at the mutilated corpses of my family and I fell to my knees.
"You bastards..." I said surprisingly calm. "You won't get away with this..."
"You're right, kid," A voice said.
A figure with a navy blue chestplate and face, glowing red eyes, red gem on its forehead, and light blue energy making up everything other body (except legs) appeared.
"What are you?" I ask.
"I'm Alpha-Xis," The weird being replies. "I'm the same race as the schmucks invading this rock! Haha! Only I'm not part of the invasion. In fact, I'm the opposite!"
"What the-," I began.
"Watch your mouth, kid," Alpha-Xis taunts. "Now, do me a favor and let me borrow your body."
Before I could reply, the being charges me and envelopes me in green energy.
