Turquoise

HI! It's Hallie and here is my first ever posted one shot/drabble! (I've only ever posted 2 poems up until now) And I really love this one and I think that the title was very creative of me (I'm not trying to be rude it's just that I never think up creative titles or quotes) anyways here is the drabbley one shot thingio…

DISCLAIMER: I think we have already discussed that I am in no shape or form, J.K Rowling, I only own the plot of this one shot.

The war was over.

It was hard to believe really, to him it felt like he should be worrying still, but it was all gone, she had told him that.

That tragedy of May 2nd 1998, wouldn't ever leave his mind, and the pictures of the dead lying in the Great Hall wouldn't ever fade away.

He thought that he should still be protecting her, the red headed Weasley girl that had stolen his heart, but she had assured him that he didn't have to, that it was all fine.

Harry sat on a particularly large rock looking out at Shell Cottage. He could see Ginny out on the beach cradling the parentless baby that would one day call Harry a godfather.

He went over to her, hands in pockets, His shoulders braced against the cold sea breeze.

Harry gently wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed the top of her head.

"Look at his cute little tuft of hair." She cooed, noticing the turquoise strands on his head.

"Hi baby! Hey Teddy!" she whispered to the child. Harry couldn't help but notice how natural she around him, how she gently rocked him and kept him from crying.

One Year Later

Back on the beach of Shell Cottage, A small baby toddled across the sand, picking up numerous broken shells as he went. He eventually reached Harry, his godfather, and tipped the shells into his lap.

"Ooh wow look at this one Teddy!" Harry exclaimed, picking up a vibrant green shell, Teddy giggled and immediately changed his hair to that same colour and then back again.

Many years later, a young boy, about 7 years old, sat on that very same beach surrounded by other children, two boys and a baby girl. He showed them all the different shells, and amused them by changing his hair colour to match. Not too far away, Harry and Ginny sat, hand in hand, enjoying the moment and remembering all those years ago, why this precious boy was here with them now.
