-Jewelzers

She sat in the passenger seat of his car. It was one of the most familiar places to her now, yet it never failed to amaze her: the sweetest smell in her world radiating everywhere, the perfect leather seats, the beautiful angel beside her, and the perfection of the stereo system as it blared out all sorts of tunes.

As she thought this, one of her mother's favorite songs came on. She smiled to herself remembering all those times Renee tried to cook, as soon as frustration really set in, her mother would start singing it.

She smiled again as she let her memory fade and she listened to the words, she could hear Renee's voice singing along, almost as if she were in the car.

Her smile widened, when suddenly Renee's voice stopped and was only filled with the sounds of the piano and Elton John's soft voice. She looked at the angel sitting next to her; he wore an expression of shock and admiration.

She wrinkled her brow at him trying to understand.

"You sing beautifully my love, I can't believe after all this time I have never heard you sing before," he said. She blushed and looked down as realization set in. It hadn't been her mother's voice at all, it had been hers. She had been so lost in thought; she hadn't realized she had given in to the familiar lyrics.

"It's Renee's favorite," she mumbled.
