Spider Riders:
What I've Missed
Hunter sighed.
He was starting to miss it.
How long was he staying in the Inner World?
He missed home.
He wondered what was going on in the Outer World.
There he sat, on his bed, in his bedroom.
Shadow was in his manacle.
Igneous and Corona had been sent to Oracle's Shrine to fix it. Sparkle and Magma had gone to see the Invectids.
Now there was only Lumen and Aqune in the palace. Only, Lumen was asleep in his office.
That left Aqune out and she was busy praying for rain.
So Hunter had stayed in his room and he was bored. So bored he went over memories in his head…that went as far as to when he lived in the outer world.
Hunter had never missed it before. His grandfather had raised him. His parents were dead since he was 1. They had died in a car crash. They had been in a taxi…and the driver was drunk. When Hunter's grandfather died, he ran away to find the inner world.
Now, here he was.
Only today, he missed the Outer World. Just because he remembered it as the place he grew up in.
Hunter turned over as outside, it began to rain.
So Aqune got us some rain after all. Hunter thought.
It had been a month since it had rained in Arachna.
The rain seemed to reflect Hunter's feelings. Gloom.
Suddenly, there was a soft knock on Hunter's door. Hunter rubbed his head and groaned.
"Hunter?" Aqune's voice came in, like music. Her quiet voice was enough to bring Hunter's spirits up a bit. It was just so…peaceful. Hunter grunted.
The door opened and Aqune walked in. Her presence was enough to make Hunter feel…so…serene…
"Oracle told me that you were sad," Aqune said, "What's wrong?"
Hunter rubbed his head and confessed, "I guess I just miss home…a little…" He felt as if Aqune would be the right person to confess to now. She was just so…
Aqune sat down next to him.
"I understand," she said.
"Then what…"
Aqune looked at him. "Do you miss your family?"
Hunter shrugged, "There're all dead."
"…I'm sorry…"
"It's okay…"
"It's because that's where you grew up, right?"
Hunter was taken aback, but his answer was strong.
"Yes."
"Where do you feel you belong?"
"…"
Aqune looked at him and suddenly, Hunter realized it.
He had never been happier in the Outer World than in the Inner World. Here, he had friends, comrades…his family.
Aqune, Corona, Igneous, Lumen, Sparkle and Magma were like siblings… but Aqune was…a little more…
"Hey…" Hunter whispered.
"Hm?"
"You know…you're a pretty impressive fighter."
"Thank you Hunter…"
"I kind of…like you…"
"I like you too…"
"Really?"
"Yup."
Aqune and Hunter stared.
They were more than friends…they were…
"I can't help myself." Hunter said quietly.
"Me neither." Aqune replied, leaning in.
Though the window, Bugese was staring in, wanting to see Aqune. What he saw made him smile.
My Aqune has grown up…
