River's Letter

Professor: This is a one shot fan fiction. I don't own anything. Please read and review.

Summary: River Song has lived a long time and the Doctor knows it is time for her to die. So he sends her to the library where her life will be ended…but before she dies she uses the last page of her diary to write her love a letter. Then she gives the whole diary to the tenth Doctor and tells him to open in when he reaches a certain age and after he has regenerated. This is that letter.

Hello Sweetie,

…Or maybe I should say goodbye. This is the last page of my TARDIS blue journal that you gave me after I tried to kill you. I am sorry. I am so sorry. If only I had known then what I know now. I would never have done that, my love.

I just saw you for the last time. I shall see you just once more…but it won't be you. It won't be my dear Doctor that I know and love. It shall be the 10th Doctor. The one that regenerates into you. He won't know me at all but you, my love, will and you will also know when it is time, will know when I shall die which shall be soon after I write this letter.

The 10th Doctor is right now trying to save us in this old library. I'm sure you remember. I shall tell you not to open this book until you are a certain age and you have regenerated. Then you shall read this and then send me off to my death. I want you to not feel guilty though.

It is my time to go. I will never forget or regret my adventures with you and my parents. If you can…got to them and tell them goodbye for me…and that I love them.

I love all the time we spent together and I wish there had been more but I know there can't be. I want to give you a gift though. One last thing to remember me by so to speak.

I know that after I die (or after you send me off would be better to say) you will probably go off and sulk somewhere in your version of mourning my passing. I recommend Victorian London. I hear that the tea and the puzzles there are very good indeed. Maybe you will find something there.

I must go now. Remember me, my sweet. I love you and always will.

…My Love…

River Song
