So Persona 5 is giving ideas... weird ideas... this is kinda sad so look out for that.

It's set two years after Persona 4.

I Will Always Protect You

"M-Mommy?"

The blonde crouched down to hug the little girl, whose eyes (so much like his) were threatening to overflow with tears, as they both sat in the front rows (the girl on her lap) in-between Akihiko and Mitsuru-san as they listened to the priest's lament.

"Mommy...?"

"I'm so-sorry, Kotone-ch-chan..." the woman holding her whispered. "M-Mommy is up there now, with the angels..."

"B-But mommy said that was where daddy was too ... I... did she leave me too?"

"No-no! Don't think like that! Your mother didn't leave you. She just..."

At a loss for words, Aigis looked at Mitsuru on her left, but the Kirijo group head had her head bowed down. Now desperate, her blue eyes stared at Akihiko on her right, but the silverhaired man was silently watching the coffin in front of them as cold rain began to pelt down upon the guests who attended the funeral. Kotone didn't speak again until the service was done and, when she did, it was to jump down from the blonde's lap to walk over to her mother's open casket, gazing down at the still, pale face of Yukari Takeba, fallen in combat in an attempt to protect her daughter. Their daughter.

"I will b-be fine, mommy. I have A-Aigis-san and the others with me."

The child choked up on her words, playing with the blue bows in her light brown hair for a moment before talking again.

"I will be okay... don't worry..."

Watching the heart-breaking scene, Aigis recalled the words she had said spoken to him over four years ago, realizing that they still held a sparkle of truth in them, even now.

'Don't worry, I will always protect you.'

Steadily growing in determination with each step, the blonde kneeled down beside Kotone after crossing the few spaces needed and hugged the little girl, the first real smile of the day painted on her face.

For she would protect this precious angel, for the sake of Yukari. And Minato.
