"Bella, let's go back to that restaurant from when I found you in Port Angeles."

"Why?"

"Because we only have a few days left as fiancées. After that you'll be a vampire and won't need to eat. I want to do something to remember our first days together."

I smiled. Edward was so sweet. "Okay."

We went and got in my new car. I missed my truck so badly. My new car was really nice, but, still. I missed my truck. In a little bit, I pulled into a parking space outside the Bella Italia. I got out, and Edward put his arm around my waist. The same hostess from almost two years ago was there. She looked up and recognized him. Of course, she smiled a little too warmly at him. "Booth for two?" He asked.

"Sure. Follow me." She led us to a booth.

"Your waitress will be right with you." She smiled at him again as she walked away.

"So, how are the plans coming along with Alice?" He asked.

"Every time I touch something, she just about kills me. She always is muttering something about dresses, or flowers, or cakes, or caterers, or something. It's getting quite annoying."

"I'm sorry to hear that, love. How about we go to our meadow tomorrow, to get away from my insane, psycho sister, if only for a few hours?" He dazzled me again.

"Okay."

Then the waitress appeared. "Can I get you anything to drink?" I noticed she was only addressing him.

"I'm fine, thank you. Bella?" He said, drawing her attention to me.

"Diet Coke would be fantastic." I said, my voice laced with possessive, territoriallness. Edward chuckled.

"What?" I asked. "Like you don't get possessive of me."

"You better be very happy you can't read her mind. You wouldn't like it."

"Well, at least you're marrying me in three days, not her." I mused.

She reappeared with my Coke in hand. She set it down on the table with more force than necessary. I slid my left hand, ring facing out, to get it. The diamonds sparkled from the lamp above me. I could tell she saw it because she looked me, then him, then turned on her heel and left. I grinned at Edward. He just chuckled. "Possessive."

LATER

Edward asked for the check, and the waitress handed him a receipt. We both stood up to leave and I started walking for the door. I turned around after three steps, to ask Edward a question, but he wasn't there. He was standing at our table, talking to the waitress.

"I'm getting married in three days." I heard him say.

"Doesn't mean you can't call me, for anything." She said, as she took a step closer.

"I happen to love Bella, and I would never even look at another woman. So, the answer is no. You cannot have my number." With that he grabbed his jacket and stalked off after me. When he reached me, he wrapped his arm around my waist and we went to the car. I just sat there, and didn't start the car.

"What's wrong, love?" He asked looking concerned.

"You know I love you so much." There was a hint of incredulousness in my voice.

"You know I love you so much more than that." He responded.

Then I started the car and we drove him in a very happy silence.
