Hinata tip-toed her way into the apartment. It was in the middle of the night, or actually way past that, and she didn't want to wake him up. She didn't imagine that he would mind too much, yet it was impolite to wake someone up at this hour unless one had a good reason.
Therefore Hinata stepped, as quietly as she could, into their bedroom and removed her pants and jacket. She placed them neatly on the floor and placed her forehead-protector on top. She turned to their bed, and nearly giggled at the sight that met her: Kiba was sprawled over their entire bed, his mouth wide open.
She barely breathed as she moved over to the bed, and tried to climb into the bed without actually moving.
She was halfway in when a dry voice made her jump slightly. "I'm a ninja, Hinata." She tried to ignore the slight blush that painted her cheeks pink.
"S-sorry Kiba-kun, di-did I wake you?" Only after she had spoken, she realized how stupid it was. She resisted the urge to poke her fingers together.
"Yeah." She could hear the slight chuckle in his voice, and she barely looked up. His brown eyes, however rimmed with sleep, were smiling at her. He reached out and hugged her close, and she sighed, feeling his arms wrapped strongly and safely around her waist.
"Thank you." He whispered in her ear, so soft she barely heard it. "For what?" she asked, wrapping her own frail arms around his shoulders.
"For coming back early… I've missed you." He knew it must have meant travelling all night without rest. Not that he was complaining.
Hinata blushed again, hoping that it didn't show. "I… I just w-wanted to s-see you again. I've mi-missed you too."
Kiba pulled back a bit, to see her. He smiled before he leaned down and kissed her softly. He smiled even wider at the small pink stains on her cheeks and the smile on her lips.
Pressing her close to him again, he whispered softly in her ear. "Welcome home Hinata." Hinata sighed, snuggling closer into his warmth and his heartbeat. Yes, she was home.
