Hey guys. I had an idea, and it's been bugging me all night so I just had to finally put it paper… screen? Whatever! You guys already know how much I love My Hero Academia, so of course I had to do another one. Also this is an AU
It's set to be a multi-chaptered fic, but that kinda depends on how well you guys take this first chapter. So tell me what you think!
Disclaimer: I Don't In Any Form or Shape Own BHNA nor Pokémon. Sadly Someone Else Does
A New Beginning
Izuku sighed, and then slumped forward in his seat. He was currently on his way to his new home with his step-father, Yagi Toshinori.
It was all a little too sudden for him, his mother remarrying. But she seemed happy, and that's what really mattered to him. Besides, Mr. Yagi wasn't that bad, just a whole lot of awkward.
Izuku slid his gaze away from the window to the couple in the front, their hands locked together while Mr. Yagi drove them towards their new home.
A new start his mom had said.
He wasn't really feeling the same energy as her, having to live in a whole new region, with whole new surroundings. Unfortunately, their life in Azalea Town (1) was not meant to be.
He had a whole life back home, now he was leaving it behind. Granted he was only five, and had his life ahead of him, he still felt like he was leaving a part of him behind.
Sadly he wasn't old enough to take care of himself, no matter how much he promised to do the dishes. This was his new life.
On the bright side however, his step-dad was actually the Champion of the region. The Hoenn Region.
That was cool.
Cool enough to momentarily distract him from moving at the time. Now it was just an afterthought.
If he was being honest, it wasn't exactly his home that he was reluctant to leave behind. It was his best friend.
Todoroki Shouto.
They've been inseparable since they were three, and they both took the news of their inevitable separation very badly. Shouto hadn't let go of him that night, and no one wanted to get between them to pry them apart.
All too soon the drive was pulling to a stop, and they were piling out. Izuku looked around at his surroundings, the place where he would be living now.
His mom had called it Verdanturf Town.
The breeze felt light here, fresh even. It was probably an ideal spot to start a family or whatever.
Adults…
He found himself thinking.
Soon he felt a pair of arms closing around his waist, and then he was hoisted into the air before being placed on a pair of strong shoulders.
Looking down, he spotted the tussled blonde hair and felt a smile blooming unto his face. Mr. Yagi may not exactly be his biological father, but he was still glad for the blonde's presence nonetheless.
Heaven knows he needed a father figure.
Up this high, the breeze felt even better as it blew through his curls. And he thought…
I could probably get used to living here
A New Beginning
After they had finally all gotten settled in their new home, Izuku thundered down the stairs and headed straight for the door.
"Izu-kun?"
He paused as his mother's voice reached him, and looked over his shoulder. "I'm just going to the Pokémon Centre. I'll be safe"
He watched as his mother bit her lip, and then looked over to his stepdad who shrugged his shoulders helplessly. "Izuku is a responsible boy. He should be fine"
"Toshinori"
Sighing, his stepdad reached into his pocket and fished out a Pokeball. Clicking the button in its center and giving it a toss, he released the Pokémon inside.
"Chammpp!"
Izuku's jaw dropped and his eyes widened as he watched the Pokémon flexed before him. "Can you walk with Izuku to the Pokémon Centre, Machamp?" his stepdad asked, to which the muscled Pokemon gave a brief nod before sweeping him unto its arms and leaving the house.
If he squealed a little, no one had to know.
Shifting a bit in the seat provided, Izuku watched as his best friend held up his new Pokémon, a small little ball of red fur.
"My father gave me this vulpix, in hopes it'll get me to shut up about you leaving" Shouto voiced over the line, and Izuku smiled. "I'll stay quiet for five minutes, he deserves that much. But later, I'm starting back up" he said smiling, as Izuku fell into full blown laughter.
"I really miss you, Shou-kun"
"I miss you too, Zu-kun" Shouto frowned as his eyes caught unto the figure behind Izuku. "Hey, you know there's a Machamp flexing behind you right?"
Blinking, he turned in his seat to see the Pokémon indeed flexing at the screen.
Huh… What a vain Pokémon
"He's a vain one huh? Does he belong to your stepdad?" Shouto asked, voicing his exact thoughts.
Izuku laughed and nodded his head. "Yeah, he's kinda acting as my bodyguard for right now" he voiced, then pouted as his friend chuckled.
It was then that he noticed the time, and frowned.
"You have to go"
Izuku nodded. "Yeah, but I'll call you tomorrow"
"And the day after"
Izuku smiled. "Forever"
"And four days" Shouto smiled back.
Laughing lightly, he hung up and jumped down from his seat. Immediately, Machamp came over and picked him up again then they both made their back towards their home.
Sighing, Izuku stared up at the clouds as he was cradled in Machamp's arms. He didn't really want to go back home just yet.
Feeling slightly rebellious, he straightened up and Machamp paused curious. "Champ?"
Glancing around, he spotted a cave a few paces away from them. "Hey, Machamp"
A New Beginning
Entering the cave, Izuku held unto one of Machamp's massive hands as they surveyed the area. It was huge.
Stepping further inside, he pulled along the Pokemon behind him as he explored more of the cave's entrance. It wouldn't do to go too far and end up being lost.
His mother would kill him, if some wild Pokemon didn't first.
A sharp screech made him flinch, as a lone Zubat flew over him and deeper into the cave.
Placing a hand over his racing heart, Izuku breathed out shakily.
Maybe this wasn't his best idea.
Behind him, his makeshift bodyguard laughed at him and he threw a glare over his shoulders. "S'not funny!" he grumbled.
Turning away, he peered deeper into the cave and frowned as he didn't notice anything noteworthy. Of course the one time he does something he's not supposed to nothing happens. "C'mon, let's get out of-"
"Rii!"
Jumping a few feet off the ground, he whirled around as a small shape was thrown out of the darkness and into a boulder, smashing it upon impact.
"W-whoa…" he breathed, and then another much larger shape stomped out of the darkness.
"Louuuuu!" the Pokémon bellowed, and shook its' fists at the cave roof.
Suddenly he was snatched up into Machamp's arm, as the tantrum throwing Pokémon turned its' gaze towards the pair. "LOUUUU!" the Pokémon screeched, its' own voice shaking loose pebbles and echoing off the walls of the cave.
"Ah!" cried out Izuku, clutching his ears as the Pokémon stomped from one foot to another, screeching at the top of its' lungs. Then suddenly they were moving, one of Machamp's four arms glowing a bright white.
There was a loud boom as the attack hit home, and the wild Pokémon was sent hurtling away. The silence that followed was a little unnerving as Machamp tightened its' hold on him.
A sharp groan of pain broke the silence, and Izuku craned his head to see what was making the noise. When he saw the curled up form of the Pokémon on the cave floor, his heart gave a brief stutter. "I-it needs help!" he cried out, flailing his arm towards the downed Pokémon.
Scrambling out of Machamp's hold, he ran over to the injured Pokémon, pausing only slightly when it curled up more at his presence then growled as he continued to come closer. "I'm not gonna hurt you, I just wanna help"
A pair of glowing red eyes watched him sharply as he lowered himself slowly, and slowly held out his arms. "I can help you"
Izuku watched as the Pokémon tensed, then slowly relaxed at his presence. Breathing a sigh of relief, he gently scooped it up in his arms then signal for Machamp to follow as he walked back the way they came.
Exiting the cave, the three made their way back towards their home.
Walking up the door, Machamp opened the door for him and he shuffled inside.
"Izuku!"
And immediately he was pulled into a hug by his mother.
"W-wait! Mom!"
A low whine and slight shuffling made his mother drawback, and look down to the form cradled in his arms. "Izuku?"
"I-I found it!" he stammered. "It was badly injured in a battle"
Drawn over by the noise, Toshinori made his way towards the two. "What did I miss?" he asked, and then his gaze immediately latched unto the Pokémon in his arms. "Is that…"
"Can you help it? Please?" he pleaded.
Frowning grimly, he gently took the Pokemon from his arms. "I'll do what I can" then he turned away, and Izuku watched as he walked back upstairs and disappeared into his and mom's room.
"Izu-kun, just where exactly did you go?"
He froze.
"Heh, well… you see.."
A New Beginning
A couple hours after his stepdad took the injured Pokemon to his room and his mom chewed him out for being reckless, Izuku sat on the couch, his lips between his teeth as he sent worried glances upstairs every time he would hear someone moving around.
His stepdad had called over Nurse Joy sometime after, and the two had spent what seemed like forever upstairs. His mother sat beside him, and carefully ran her hands through his soft curls.
It nearly lulled him to sleep, and he would have if not for the sound of footsteps coming down the stairs. "Izuku?"
Bolting upright, he turned towards his stepdad and Nurse Joy. "Is.. it okay?"
Toshinori smiled as he Izuku walked over to peer at the form in his arms. "He's fine. Actually, I think he wanted to see you"
Izuku eyes lit up as he carefully took the Pokemon in his arms. Familiar red eyes stared up at him, and then a paw was outstretched to him and placed on his cheek. There was brief pulse of energy, and Izuku gasped.
All too soon whatever it was, was over and Izuku blinked. "What… was that?"
Smiling, Nurse Joy stepped forward. "Riolu is a Pokemon with an ability to read people's aura. I think maybe this Riolu here has taken a liking to you"
"Rih!"
A dazzling smile settled on his face, and his parents couldn't help but smile as well. "A Riolu…" a sharp yip was his response. "Can I- Can he stay?"
"I don't want to be one to separate you" Toshinori voiced. "Inko?"
"He'll be a lovely addition to the family"
"Settles that then" Toshinori grinned. "I'll catch him for you once he's back up to health"
Izuku beamed. "Thanks, Dad!"
Years later, Izuku was rudely awakened by a small shape crashing into him.
"Rih!"
Groaning, he pulled down the blankets revealing his unimpressed face. "Was that really necessary?"
Riolu yipped, and jumped off his bed tugging the blankets along with him, sporting a smug grin all the way.
Groaning again, Izuku glared at his companion. "You're horrible, you know that?"
He got a ball to the face in response.
After getting ready for the day, he made his way downstairs to greet his parents who were seated at the dining table. "Morning mom" he kissed her temple. "Morning dad" smiling, he bumped fists with him.
"You ready, my boy?"
Grinning around a few strips of bacon, Izuku nodded. "I'm so excited for this. Riolu and I can't wait"
Said Pokémon hummed as he happily ate his own Pokémon food.
"That's great" his dad hummed, and pulled forth something from his pocket. "I got this from Professor Bakugo. It should save you the trouble of going all the way to Littleroot Town"
He gratefully accepted the Pokedex and grinned. "Thanks!"
"Oh!" springing to her feet, Izuku watched as his mom disappeared for a few mins. He sent a confused glance towards his father who shrugged and continued nibbling his bacon. A few seconds later his mother returned with a little box, to which she immediately shoved in his hands. "This is for you!"
Carefully unwrapping the gift, he was greeted by the sight of a brand new Poke-Nav PLUS.
Toshinori did a spittake.
"M-mom!"
Raising a hand to her cheek she titled her head, and smiled. "This way you'll never get lost, and I'll be able to contact you on your journey wherever"
A wobbly grin came upon his face at his mother's words. "I love it mom, thank you"
She smiled before turning away as his father tugged on her arm. Glancing down, he began tinkering away at the Poke-Nav as his parents talked in hush tones.
A knock at the door drew the occupants' attention, and they all glanced at it before their gaze settled upon each other. "Are we expecting anyone?" Toshinori asked, voicing everyone's thoughts.
Izuku shrugged.
The person knocked again, and Izuku got up to answer. His parents gaze following him curiously.
Opening the door, Izuku stared into familiar heterochromia eyes. "S-Shouto?"
"Hey, Izuku"
To Be Continued…?
What did you think? Is it worth continuing? Or nah?
Tell me your thoughts, constructive criticism is also appreciated. Flames will be used to make online cookies, and yes this is a Yaoi fic. Like everything else I've written.
Also, I haven't forgotten about my other fic, so don't worry about that.
(1). Izuku previously lived in the Johto region. Pointing that out for anyone who didn't know just where Azalea Town was located.
Until then,
