Zack woke up in the night hearing a scream. "Cody, Cody, CODY!" Zack attempted to wake him up.
"W-W-What?" Cody stuttered. Zack softened. "What's wrong?" he asked gently. "I-I had a nightmare and you died and…" Cody started to sob.
"Shh it's ok." Zack said hugging him. "I'm ok. I'm not going anywhere."
"I was so scared, please don't leave me. Zack?"
"Yes?"
"Can…Can I sleep with you tonight please."Cody practically begged. "I don't want the nightmares to come back." Cody said ashamed and embarrassed.
"Sure. I'll always be here to protect you bro. Cody I'm glad you're my younger brother.
I wouldn't want anyone else but you, I can't think of a better brother." Zack told him
sincerely.
"Thanks but I think you're better at everything and the best brother ever. I always admired you and wanted to be just like you." Cody admitted.
"That's really sweet, Thanks. Cody?" Zack said touched.
"Hmm?" Cody responded.
"I love you Cody."
Cody smiled. "I love you too Zack. Don't ever leave because you're my whole world."
"I won't, you're my whole world too and Cody?"
"Yeah?"Cody questioned.
"I'm not better at everything. You're good at plenty of stuff and an amazing person. We're
both special in our own ways. I can't think of a better person." Zack exclaimed then said more firmly "I don't want to hear you put yourself down understand."
"Yes, Thanks Zack."
"You're welcome, now come closer." Zack wrapped his arms around Cody. "Go to sleep bro. It'll be all right." Zack whispered.
"Thanks Zack. Goodnight."
"Night Cody."
