Mistoffelees sighed from the tire as he watched The Rum Tum Tugger flirt with various queens, all of whom were gathered around him. His eyes shifted to his sister, Victoria, whom The Rum Tum Tugger seemed especially interested in today. It wouldn't be long, of course, before he decided to move onto Electra or Jemima or one of the other queens.
Victoria looked absolutely faint at being the tall tom's current center of attention, as any sane queen would. It wouldn't last, of course, and she would be heart-broken when another queen took her place.
Looking away, Mistoffelees sighed again. It just wasn't right for The Rum Tum Tugger to take advantage of the queens like that – the kittens especially!
Mistoffelees closed his eyes, thinking. Maybe there was something he could do… something to show The Rum Tum Tugger just what he was doing to the queens – what he was doing to himself.
There ought to be a way, he thought. After all, magic can find its course through all obstacles.
"Mistoffelees?" His contemplation was interrupted by no other than Victoria, who was sitting next to Mistoffelees, smiling warmly. "You awake?"
Sitting up, Mistoffelees wondered vaguely how long he had been meditating. Then, offering up a goofy grin, he pounced on his sister, both of them tumbling from the tire. Giggling she ran off and he happily chased after her, starting up a game of tag.
Later that night, whilst Victoria was asleep, Mistoffelees snuck out of their human house and ran back to the Junkyard. He scurried around for some time, watching and waiting – making sure no one was about. Everything safe and secure, he let himself wander down the aisles of rubbish until he came to an old, over-turned desk.
Behind the desk, was a small hole. Too small for most adult felines, yet Mr. Mistoffelees, able to fit into the tiniest of cracks, easily squirmed himself in there. From the entrance, there was a tunnel. A long, long tunnel that bore deep down into the earth.
He followed this tunnel swiftly until he came to a large cavern, filled with books, parchments, cauldrons, magical ingredients in jars and many different knick-knacks.
He shuffled through the many books until he found what he was looking for. With a triumphant cry, he flipped the pages until he came to a chapter entitled, "The Turning of Time."
He skimmed through the chapter, grinning all the while. This won't be nearly as difficult as I had originally thought, he mused. In fact, it should be ready within… Two weeks, give or take. I feel that this is only the beginning of a long and exciting adventure!
A/N: Well, I certainly hope he's right! Well, it was short, but the next chapter will be MUCH longer! This was merely and introduction to the story – a prologue, I suppose.
Sooo…. Reviews please! Constructive criticism is welcome and any Flamers will be hunted down and their pelts will be hung upon my wall. XD You don't want that now, do you?
