A/N: So, um, yeah, this is just something I thought of while I was writing a different fanfic. It belongs to my Sheeps in The Wolves Den 'Verse. If you haven't read that story I suggest you do. It won't really make sense without it. Yeah, I dunno, I heard the Challenge and thought of this. The Challenge was, "Write a drabble surrounding this quote, 'Forever is an awful long time." So, I did, and this was the result.
Warnings: Poetry formation, unabashed fluff, love-y dove-y gooey-ness, and pretty damn good imagery if I do say so myself.
The sweet, loving scents of plants and trees surround me.
I smile the smile no one but the wilderness see's.
I belong here.
In the forest.
In this shape.
I paw at the dirt, reveling in the dampness of it.
The Moon is high, bathing me in its pale light.
It drapes over me like a velvet blanket.
I shake my head, letting the water from the river fly free off me.
I watch it flick across my vision in tiny sparkles.
Without provocation or signal I dash deeper into the lush forest.
The Pack had just taken its monthly run.
We hunted several deer and feasted together.
As One.
We were one.
Now- though we're still connected- we take our Mates and friends to play.
It's been too long since we could play like this.
The Hunter's have kept us on high alert for far too long.
Now, there is peace.
It's wonderous, this peace.
I wonder how long it will last.
Better take full advantage of it then, I think.
I follow my nose to him.
He leans against our tree with a smile only seen by me.
Only meant for me.
I love him in either shape.
He is graceful and gorgeous in both.
Though, this one has lips that trickle silken words of love to me.
I pad over to him and nuzzle my face against his bare stomach.
He grins a lazy grin and kisses my wet nose.
"I love you," is what his lips say.
"I need you," is what his body says.
"Forever," is what our souls say.
The Moon sings her siren song as we begin our 'forever'.
Ending A/N: So this is from Rabyt's POV and she is musing to Dean. Whom is the other wolf she speaks about. Though, I gotta say, I have no idea where this came from. Yeah, no idea what-so-ever. I'm sorry if it sucked. It's not my usual kind of thing but this Plot Bunny held me at gun point until I wrote it. *brandishes whip* Back Plot Bunny! BACK!
