"No! Simon!" screamed the young Marceline as she reached out to her great friend. "I have to, to protect you Marce," said Simon as he grinned at Marceline, with a tear running down his cheek. He slips on the crown, knowing he could lose himself again. Maybe even for good this time. "You got this old pal, you gotta do it for her," he muttered to himself. He finally positioned the crown properly on his head, then it happened again. A surge of strange unfamiliar thoughts and images flooded through his mind quicker then he could processes them. He stumbled then fell, as he struggled for control of his own mind.
While Simon battled within himself, the beast he was trying to protect Marceline from lunged at her. As Marceline was pinned to the ground full of fear, she noticed long sharp fangs extend out of the beasts mouth. "Please no! Marceline!" and for the sake of the little girl a loved he overcame the crowns power, and tamed it.
As he then released a surge of icey magic upon the monster, yet it was too late. The beast had already done it's duty, and plunged it's fangs into her neck. In which the beast was frozen right after pulling back from the bite. " I'm sorry Marce... I couldn't protect you from this lost world... just like how I couldn't protect Betty... I'm sorry." Those were Simon's last words, as he also cried his last tears, before he became a corrupted shadow of his former self. But he is still sat, that he could spend his last tears and moments with Marceline.
Marceline lye dazed, in a shriveled state from loss of blood. Here vision went in out of focus. "Si...mon..." she weakly mumbled as her body lost all strength, and she sent limp. With her head tilted on its side, parallel to the ground, she saw a pair of red boots marching towards her, with a pair of black pants connected to them. "Oh Marceline, it's for the family business."
