-BANDITSAREOUTTHERETOO

"Abel!" Cain greeted the green armored cavalier before spurring his horse towards the man a bit more. "How has your holiday been?"

"It's been peaceful." The other knight answered as he dismounted from his horse. "And yours?"

"The same." The red armored cavalier replied as he too dismounted.

"You don't seem too happy about that." Abel noted as Cain's smile seemed to lessen.

"It's not that I'm not thankful for it, but every moment I spend resting could have been spent improving my swordsmanship." The red-haired knight attempted to explain. "I get…restless."

"Training even during holiday time…" The green-haired knight spoke almost admirably. "Your swordsmanship needs no work, but your lance-wielding skills are another question." He almost laughed at that.

"What about your swordsmanship?" Cain asked. "We can't all be amazing with lances like you. We'd go down quickly if we went against bandits."

"That's only if a bandit could touch me." Abel pointed out.

"True." Cain yielded. "By the way, what are you up to at this time?"

"Oh, I'm helping a poor village out here." The other knight explained. "Their crops didn't grow well, so I'm helping them hunt."

"Hunt, huh?" The red-armored knight's eyes lit up. "Perhaps I could come along?"

"Somehow I knew you'd ask that." The green-armored knight accepted his request.

:-o-O-o-:

"Bandits!" cried one of the villagers.

"Do those brutes know no rest?" Abel commented. "They pop up everywhere."

"No time to complain, Abel." Cain said as he rode alongside him. "We have a village to save!"

"Shouldn't we call for reinforcements?" The green-haired knight questioned.

"No one wants to fight bandits on the holidays." The red-haired knight scoffed at the idea. "Come, the village won't save itself." He ordered as he rode into the village.

'No one other than you, Cain.' The green-armored cavalier thought to himself as he rode after his reckless companion.

:-o-O-o-:

"Mother, who are those two?" a village boy asked as he looked out the window to see Cain and Abel fight off the bandits that invaded. A woman in an apron walked over to peer out as well.

"A red knight and a green knight… Do they serve Prince Marth, perhaps?" She asked.

"A red knight and a green knight." The boy echoed. His smile widened. "Christmas knights!"

And that is how the red knight and the green knight always return in some way with every tale, battle, and war that concerns the mysterious Fire Emblem.
