"Sophie, are you coming?" she looked up at her sister.
"Maybe next time." Sophie mumbled. Lettie looked upon her elder sister with a look of sadness.
"Alright." Sophie stared out the window. Raindrops speckled across the glass, she was reminded of all the times they shared. The sweet taste of happiness really could only be felt for a moment.
She missed him. It was that simple. But getting back to him was something she'd never be able to do alone.
Maybe, if they'd only tried, things wouldn't be the way they were. They would've been happy together, living their lives with love and hope.
But now, "they" were finished. Two puzzle pieces that broke, unable to be put back together the same way.
Drip, drip. The rain plopped against the window in an odd manner. It reminded her of him. How everything seemed to be odd when he was around…
Suddenly, wind blew all through the room, yet she remained unharmed. Rain poured and soaked the wood thoroughly. It seemed like someone was throwing buckets of water solely at her.
Through all the ruckus, she spotted a tall figure. No. It couldn't be true. This must've been a dream. Thoughts kept running through her head. They continuously tried to deny the situation.
The figure moved closer and closer by the second. Tears slowly filled her eyes.
She wanted to beg him to stop. To leave things as they were, and not give her anymore sadness. Her heart had been broken by him many times. She didn't think she could take it being broken for any longer.
A slender hand was placed on her cheek and she felt the tears fall. Thin fingers laced through her hand, and she could take it no longer.
She threw her arms around the man in front of her.
"Don't leave." He put his arms around her and pulled her close reassuringly.
"Not this time." And she knew, this time his words rang true.
