"I was never looking for approval from anyone but you."

Being in love with an angel was something that very few people in the world were fortunate enough to experience; luckily, for him, he was one of the minority. With her long, flowing, strawberry-blonde hair, looks that could easily compete with the Goddess Aphrodite's, and a brain that was comparable to that of Pallas Athena, she truly was an angel.

They were lying, hand-in-hand, in a vast meadow of wild flowers. Lysander had wanted to show her how the clouds took on different shapes when the light breeze pushed them through the sky.

"That one, there," he said to her in his dream-like voice," that one looks like a heart."

Dominique smiled at him and nodded her head in agreement. "What do you think that one looks like?" she asked him, pointing to the sky.

He considered it for a moment and then it came to him. "It looks like an angel, like you."

She smiled again and squeezed his hand gently. "You are way too good to me, Love." She scooted closer to him and gave him a light, sweet kiss.

He gazed at her, his round blue eyes meeting with hers. "I think that it is the other way around. You are much too good for me, for anyone."

"That's not true, Lysander. I wouldn't want anyone else but you; I have never connected with someone like I have with you." She sat up, her lengthy hair glowing in the summer sun as she pushed it over her shoulder. Dominique reached forward and combed her hand through his pale blond locks, grinning at him.

"Why did you want me?" he questioned, looking up at her. He had definitely inherited his mother's trait of being painstakingly honest and he expected everyone else to be the same. "Out of all of the guys that you could have had, why me? I've always wondered this."

She pulled him by his hand to a sitting position so she could look at him directly; they were inches away from each other. "Ly, I was not really sure at first," she told him, truthfully. "Then, one day, it suddenly hit me: I was never looking for approval from anyone but you. When we started to hangout, as friends, I felt this need for you to approve of me and I had never felt that before."

"You longed for my approval? Why? I'm quite curious." Lysander reached out for one of her delicate hands and took it in his.

She took a deep breath in and sighed. Sometimes she hated to be this truthful with him but he always told her that she could tell him everything without worrying about being judged. "I…" she started, hesitantly. "Well, you… you find beauty in everything; not external beauty but the one that really matters, internal beauty. I was afraid that you would not find me truly beautiful like you do with everything else; I was not sure if I was just a pretty face and nothing else. I guess I was insecure, for once, and I hated it. I needed you to see that I was beautiful on the inside; I needed you to show me that. I guess my one insecurity brought us together." She gave him an unsure smile and looked back up at the clouds.

A smile played on his lips and he reached towards her, cupping one of her porcelain cheeks in his hand. "Dominique, you are so much more beautiful in here," he let go of her hand and placed his hand over her heart. "And that is what actually matters. You are lucky, you know? You are stunningly beautiful, on not only the outside, but also the inside." Lysander closed the distance between them and kissed her passionately.

When they slowly broke apart, he swept her bangs back behind her ear and whispered softly, "You are much too good for me, my Angel."

I hope everyone likes it. Don't forget to review.

Aren't Lysander and Dominique one of the cutest couple ever? They don't get enough publicity! I'll have to write about them again... :)
