Female LoneWanderer and Dogmeat!

I looked at my master; as she sat on a high rock, looking out across the vast Wasteland. There where no settlements in sight at the moment, but soon there will be; because they were everywhere. From a few big ones to many small ones. However, now, the only thing I could see was a black and white land. Bare and cruel. I growled and this caused my master to look at me up from the high rock above. She just smiled at me. I liked that, I wagged my tail as she jumped off the huge rock. I barked.

"Come on boy." I followed her. I had known her for some time now, she had saved me from some raiders and I had never left her side since that day. I would never leave my master. Never. I would stay by her side to the very end. Until the day I die. I will follow her and her only. The people of the wasteland considered her as an angle, a goddess, she was so kind, thoughtful, but she had never planned to help these people. She only wanted to find her father... That's all. Sometimes I would hear her cry, cry because she would help all these people, and she didn't even know why... But who was going to help her? No one did, no one would. She had helped a boy get a new home, disarmed a bomb in Megaton... She had done a lot of things, and these people could never re-pay her for what she has done. Now we had a new mission. Find dad.

"You know, I feel like you're the only one I can talk to, Dogmeat." I yapped in agreement, I would always listen, I would never judge her, she was the reason I still was alive. My grateful wide brown stared at her; I agreed with her.

"When we find my dad..." I knew she was crying she wasn't facing me now, however, I knew… a good dog knows. I walked up to her side and nudged her hand.

I'm always here when you need me. I knew I couldn't talk, but I knew she understood me.

She smiled at me.

"...When we find dad, we can have a break Dogmeat. Just you and me. Yeah." I wagged my tail. She laughed.

We had walked for a few days now, but by now we we're used to it. We had fought supermutains, and other things… I liked to fight dogs more than anything though, to protect my master from their harsh bite. But my master says that's a bad thing. So there's no fighting dog... Not anymore.

Now I was hot; my fur was wet from where she had thrown some water over me. We had a robot butler so we didn't really need to worry about water anymore, well kind of... She usually gave it away, or gave some to me.

After a while we walked up the hill until Megaton was in view, she sat down at the top, so, I laid down next to her.

"What if we never find my dad?" She asked.

I barked. I knew she pretended to know what I was saying.

We will.

"Thanks" She smiled. I barked again. Happy.

"You're a true friend Dogmeat."

Yep! You know if we don't find dad. Know that I'm always here, by your side...

"I love you Dogmeat"

I love you too, until the end.

I'm here.
