First
"I've never kissed anyone before."
Alice readied a finger to place down, which would've left her with only one more, but she stopped. No, she hadn't kissed anyone either, had she? There had been cheek kisses from relatives and suitors, but none upon the lips, which she supposed was what he was referring to. The he exactly, happened to be the Mad Hatter, who still had three fingers up for he had never driven in a car, never baked a dessert without explosives, nor done anything along the lines of normality. The Hatter looked at her questionably, his left hand holding up three fingers, his right stopped midway with the rim of the teacup almost to his lips.
"Uh," began Alice, blushing under his gaze. The two sat across from one another at the Hatter's long tea party table. A line of empty teapots and mismatching teacups sat on either side. "Well, I doubt I've ever kissed anyone either. If you're referring to kissing on the, um," Alice placed two of her fingers to her lips, as she was unable to get the words out.
"Oh well," retorted the Hatter, and Alice had to giggle at the pink that had seeped into his cheeks, "Should we, well, go on then?" As this had been the case when either hadn't done the certain action in past scenarios. But for some reason Alice, didn't really want to go on. Instead, well-
"Maybe," replied Alice, "Or-"
She chuckled as she heard his breath caught in a tight gasp. Alice leaned up from the table, and placed one hand under his chin, tilting it up lightly. Softly, she placed her lips against his, their mouths dancing against one another in a sort of waltz, starting at nothing, barely a touch, and then, harder as something sparked, wanting them closer and closer to each other.
She came up first, desperate for breath. Her throat ached as though she'd been drowning, though in what, Alice wasn't quite sure. She leaned back into her seat, though their eyes remained fixated on one another.
"Wow," he spoke, breaking the silence, "I've always wondered-
Alice nodded her head, still unable to speak, or even comprehend what had just happened between them.
"-and now I know. And it felt, it felt so-"
"Amazing."
"Yes," nodded the Hatter, pleased with her word choice. His eyes went back to her again, a smile stretching across his face.
Alice looked away, "Alice, are you, alright?" Everything, the feelings inside of her. They felt so wonderful, so outstanding, like she was ballooning up with all of these good feelings and was about to float away, but what if, something-
It tugged at her mind, pulling her back to reality. Was this reality?
"I-I would do it again. But I-"
This time, it was the Hatter who picked tilted back her chin, and placed his lips against hers.
