Everyone gets a happy ending?
Never.
When one is a ninja, there are no happy endings.
.-.
Then why was she a ninja? Why did she struggle to top the efforts of her team mates? She would kill. She would probably be killed by a ninja. There were no happy endings for ninja.
Sakura found she didn't really know why she went through this personal hell of thoughts. She didn't know why she even needed to get up out of bed and meet up with Team 7 to practice. So she just stayed in bed. For that day, and the next, she lay in her bed and looked up at the very white ceiling, trying to understand something. Something she must understand to go on. At times, she felt like crying and felt very, very alone.
Sakura ignored the knocking on her door; the shouts from Naruto about her well-being. She would die. Why worry about how she was doing now? Kakashi was a little less noisy; he asked in a soft voice if she was sick. Sasuke said nothing. Or maybe he wasn't even there; he didn't care anyways. They left, and Sakura felt the abyss stretch out more... Everything was rather dark, or else it was just the fading light. Fading hope.
The third day came and Sakura felt that she should get up. She was loathe to enjoy the bright sunshine that contradicted the very destiny and jobs of the people it shined upon. But she had energy in her limbs and she somehow couldn't just stay in bed again today. She showered, put on some clean clothes from her dresser, and ate. As she looked back in her house from the outside, she could almost understand why Sasuke was the way he was. He knew the secret.
There are no happy endings for shinobi-- just false hopes to hang onto for ninja. So, she had found a way to get moving back into the world. She wasn't happy; the false pretenses of her life, shattered. But it wasn't all bad. She felt blank and she clung onto the anonymity that brought with it.
Fin.

M4M: Sort of depressing, I think. I wrote this after speaking with a friend about Naruto and Konoha ninja... suffice to say it was... rather... eye-opening ? in a tragic way... but a friend from LJ helped me out greatly when she offered to write me a happy ending. n.n It really helped me get out of the pit I was sinking in to.
On this calendar thingy I got, it said something along the lines that God will help you with people you wouldn't expect... and that's just what happened. n.n She's just an awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, AWESOME pal. Thanks samjei. n.n
