Death Note: L's Challenge
I don't own deathnote and shamefully never will...
Light, a straight A college student has made contact with a shinigami, a "God of death" named Ryuk through Ryuk's notebook that he dropped in the human world, called the "Death Note" where any name that is written in it with a cause of death will happen, which Light has been using, under the alias of Kira, to build the "perfect world" without criminals and he would reign as a God. But during one day the enigmatic L has set a challenge for him…
Light was watching a news report waiting for more criminals when static replaced the screen and a man sitting in a chair addressed the out side world.
"This is a live report to the world from Interpol." said the figure "My name is Lind L. Taylor, more commonly known as L, the sole person with the ability to mobilise police in every country worldwide!"
Hah, this is finally getting interesting! Thought Light
"Criminals worldwide have been the targets of a worldwide killing spree, which has turned into the biggest mass murder case in history!" L continued.
Behind Light, Ryuk Chuckled.
"This monstrous crime must be stopped at all costs." L said " 'Kira' as the perpetrator is more commonly known will be caught, I guarantee it!"
Ryuk chuckled "he guarantees you'll be caught, Light!"
"Moron. LIKE HELL I'LL BE CAUGHT" Light screamed at the T.V "WITH THIS DEATH NOTE YOU HAVE NO PROOF – NONE. THERE'S NO WAY YOU'LL CATCH ME!" Light chuckled, then broke out in hysterical laughter.
"Kira I have a pretty good idea why you're doing this…" L said sternly on the monitor "But what you're doing… IS EVIL!"
"Me… Evil?" light gasped "I AM RIGHTEOUS! I'M LIBERATING PEOPLE FROM FEAR AND DISPEAR! THOSE WHO OPPOSE ME… THEY'RE THE EVIL ONES!" light whipped open the death note and addressed the screen "you are too damn stupid L if you'd been smarter this would have gotten interesting!" he then scrawled down 'Lind L. Taylor' in the note and the man collapsed.
Then something weird happened a machine garbled voice started and the screen was taken up by a huge L.
"I can't believe it… I really can't!" said the voice "Kira, it appears you can kill people without making direct contact with them!"
Light gasped, Lind L. Taylor was a stand in!
"The person you killed just now was a death penalty prisoner who wasn't in the media, and secretly arrested by the police. Due to a lot of negotiation he replaced me."
"Damn you L!" Light snarled.
"I'm still alive… Kill me!" he mocked "c'mon I'm still here, what's the matter? Can't do it?"
Light was gob smacked. How dare he?!
"Kira, I have a very important piece of in formation for you. You are in the area of Kanto, Japan. Although we claimed it was globally televised it was only aired in Kanto, Japan. Listen Kira, I'll arrest you and solve the puzzle, then I'll send you to death penalty… I represent righteousness"
And the screen went black…
