"Wow! You picked that up fast!" The surprise was very clear in the Pikachu's voice.

"You sound surprised." My voice was as innocent as it always was back then. Purely innocent. I miss those days.

"Well...Uh...On to the next move! Thunderfang!" I realize now he was just trying to change the subject, but back then I thought he was just moving forward.

"Ooohhh! That sounds fun!" That innocence is so far gone. I'll never get it back.

Conduit charged up electricity into his teeth, and bit down on the piece of the wood they were using for a practice dummy.

"That. Was. Amazing!" So much innocence. Such a little kid. I wish I could go back.

Conduit just nodded. So, I decided that it was my turn to try. I charged up electricity and – nothing. I didn't lose hope though, it was my first try. I kept trying for what felt like hours, but upon what Conduit said, it was only about one hour.

"Don't worry Salar. You're still pretty new at fighting, and this is a really strong move. You are the strongest guy I've ever met. I mean, you've already learned Electro-ball.

I let out a small groan. I was frustrated over something so trivial. So innocent. So far away.

"But I can't protect myself if I don't know any good moves." I moaned the sentence out. I was so naïve.

"Don't worry. You're welcome to stay with me until you can survive on your own." He was so caring. So kind. And now he's gone. And it's all my fault.

"Really? !" I pushed myself against him, in my best attempt of giving him a hug. He hugged back.

"Hey, how about you try one more time?"

I nodded, then charged up electricity, focused it on my teeth, and bit down. Unfortunately, Conduit was grabbing the wood, and I bit his paw.

"Wow….You picked that up fast." He was really happy for me.

"You sound surprised." He was happy for me. And he hugged. Someone actually loved me. And that part I was really happy about that, even back then.
