Bella Swan was pissed as she made her way across First Beach. Her supposed best male friend once again blew her off to hang out with some other boys. She didn't understand how he could say that he would always be there for her but then blow her off like he has been doing for the last week. She was finally whole again from where Edward Cullen had broken her so she refused to allow Jacob Black to break her. If that is how he wanted to be then she was finished with him. She wasn't going to give him another chance. She wasn't going to accept his I'm sorries any longer. She was tired of getting close to someone only for them to pull away. She was glad now that she hadn't let Jake pressure her to go out with him like he wanted her to.

She came to a stop when she heard someone yelling her name. Her eyes hardened when she saw Paul Lahote running towards her. She couldn't believe that he had the nerve to come up to her after the way he has acted towards her. "What do you want, Lahote? Shouldn't you either be off with the guys or with some bimbo who doesn't look past your looks?"

Paul scowled at Bella as he finally stopped right in front of her. "How can you stand there and say that shit to me, Bella? You don't know me! So don't even bother trying to talk to me about shit you don't understand or know. I wanted to tell you that I'm sorry that Jake is blowing you off once again. Sam, Jared, and I have tried telling him that it wasn't right but he won't listen to us. So since that asshole treated you like that we decided that you should come hang with us and Leah at Sam's place. Bella, you and I may have are problems but even I wouldn't do what Jake is doing to you. Believe it or the Elders are pissed about what he is doing to you too. So forget about Jake and leave him to his own devices."

Bella sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "I'm sorry I said what I said, Paul. I'm pissed off and I'm taking it out on you because you're here. I think that I would like to come hang out with you guys at Sam's house. Just so you know I had just come to the same conclusion that you, Sam, and Jared have seemed to come to. I'm finished with Jacob Black. I'm not going to let him break me like Cullen did because if he did I'm not sure I would come back from it. If he was blowing me off for pack duties I would understand but he's not. I refuse to let him drag me down when I'm finally feeling like me once more."

Paul nodded and smiled slightly as he wrapped an arm around Bella's shoulders and pulled her into his side. "Now let's go to Sam's and have a good time. When Jake decides to pop in like I know he will he will see that you are having a good time with us. It's best to not let him think or know that what he is doing is getting to you because he would press that to his advantage. We'll watch movies and play games just to chill since we have some downtime today. Okay?"

Bella nodded and smiled. "Lead the way, Paul."

Paul chuckled as he did just that but made sure he kept his arm around Bella's shoulders so that she wouldn't fall. He knew how accident prone she was and he didn't want her to injure herself. If he was honest even if it was just to himself he had to admit that he wanted to make sure she was safe and that meant making sure she didn't hurt herself some how. He was happy that she agreed to come hang out Sam's with him and the others because he did like being around her.
