Just a little twist on the best chapter of the book, The School for Good and Evil. One-Shot.
"Trust me on this Agatha!" Sophie hissed.
"ONE!" shouted Tedros.
"I don't want to. . ." Agatha mumbled, averting her gaze from Sophie's wrinkled eyes.
"TWO" A smash echoed on the door.
"You must choose now. A dance with me, but you'll be protected. I promise."
"Then yes," Agatha finally agreed.
"Hurry."
"THREE!" Epic smashes reverberated through the hall and Tedros charged in screaming.
"DEATH TO THE WIT-" He faltered, and so did his army. In front of him, Agatha and Sophie were arm in arm, waltzing, the Nevers. . . were holding a ball.
"Poor Tedros," said Sophie, silencing the music. "Every time he finds his princess, turns out she's a witch."
Tedros paled. "You were with her. . . all along? I knew it. I KNEW IT!" He spat. Agatha couldn't breathe. "No Tedros! I didn't! I'm supposed to be your princess-"
"Princesses wouldn't question my authority," he said, glowering red. "Princesses, would not question if I was a man." His eyes darted to Excalibur between them and he lunged. Agatha reached the sword first and leapt to her feet, Evers pulling out weapons in horror.
"No, no Tedros, I didn't mean to. . ." She threw Excalibur away, but Tedros went red.
"Prepare to attack!"
Agatha backed up. "Tedros, listen to me!" He grabbed Chaddick's bow, and the bewildered boy just gaped.
"Tedros?" Agatha pleaded. "Wait!"
"I'm worse than my father." Tedros looked up, eyes glistening. "Because I still love you."
He pulled an arrow at her heart.
"No!" Agatha sceamed—
"Fire!"
Evers unleashed their array of weapons at the defenceless Nevers, and Tedros loosed his arrow. Sophie flicked her lit finger and all the range of arsenal fell to the ground as yellow daisies. All except for the arrow that pierced Agatha's heart as she dissolved into dust.
Tedros took a step back, as Sophie turned to him smiling. "Learnt that from my favourite princess!"
The Evers were in shock, some even threw down their weapons. "What. . . what was that?" Tedros' eyes widened.
Sophie held up a black hair between her thumb and forefinger, and smiled. "A little bit of black magic, some of Agatha's essence, and I created a perfect duplicate! She acted exactly the same way Agatha would have."
"W-where is Agatha?" Tedros asked, and dropped his bow with a clatter. "WHERE IS SHE?" He demanded, shaking from head to toe.
Nobody moved as the pale, dark haired girl emerged from the crowd of Nevers to stand with Sophie, a tear streaking down her face.
"See Teddy?" Sophie said. "The biggest betrayal was not from me, or Agatha. It was from you."
