It was talent night at Joes and there were a couple acts going up and one of the last ones would be Derek. Derek had been planning this night for a couple weeks now but didn't know what he would sing. Then during his planning process he and Meredith broke up and started to date someone else. About a week before the show he realized that he still loved Meredith with all his heart and wanted to be with her and that's when he decided on what he was going to sing.
As an the first act took the stage Meredith walked into the bar without even noticing that it was talent night. She just wanted to drink because it had been a long day. When the first act ended and the clapping started she remembered what tonight was and thought that Derek might not be doing it now. She was interested in the show so she found a table close to the stage and watched as the next act took the stage and started setting up.
Derek was back stage feeling a little nervous because as the act before his took the stage he looked out and saw Meredith sitting at a table right by the stage. He just hoped that she loved it and might consider taking him back forever. As the second at came to a close he gathered all the strength he had and walked out on stage.
"This goes out to a very special women who I hurt more then once, so Meredith this is for you," Derek said looking down at her and getting ready to sing.

When Derek finished the song he looked down to see tears in Meredith's eyes. So he walked off the stage and over to her table and sat down across from her.
" I'm so sorry Meredith, please don't cry," Derek said stroking her arm.
" Its ok I'm not crying because I'm mad, I'm crying because I've been waiting for you to say that to me," Meredith said wiping her eyes smiling.
" Well I realized I can't live with out you," Derek said looking deeply into her eyes.
" I Love You," Meredith said standing up and sticking her hand out.
" I Love You too," Derek said taking her hand as he got up and left with her.

Its been 4 years since Derek and Meredith got back together and a lot has happened. About a year after Derek's public apology to her, Meredith and Derek got married and were thrilled to have each other. Then about a year after that they had their first child a boy named James Matthew. They thought they had the perfect family when three years later they added on to their family with a daughter Lily Madison. They had the perfect life and wouldn't have it any other way.
