"How do you think I should wear my hair?"
Daphne was silent for a few seconds, deep in thought. "You could pile it up on top of your head? You know, wear it in a kind of bun?"
"You think?" said Pansy anxiously, staring into the large mirror hanging on the wall of the girls dormitory. "Do you think he'll like that?"
"I'm sure he will," said Daphne firmly. "It will really suit you."
Pansy took a deep breath. "Right. If you're sure?"
Daphne nodded. "You'll look beautiful. Plus it will show off your earrings!"
"You're right," said Pansy nervously. "I'll try wearing it like that." She grabbed a brush and ran it through her light brown hair, before piling it up into a bun.
Daphne pulled a few strands down so that they framed Pansy's face. "Here you go," she said, handing Pansy the new pair of earrings she had received for Christmas. "Put them on before you look in the mirror."
Pansy looked at the earrings and couldn't help but smile, despite her nerves. They were beautiful, although very expensive. Small and gold, which caught the light whenever she turned her head. She couldn't fail to see how Draco could ignore her, not when she had a new hairstyle, new earrings and a new necklace. She reached for this necklace now, hooking it round her wrist as she fixed the earrings to her ears.
"He'll be so impressed," said Daphne eagerly as she put the necklace on. "You look lovely, Pansy!"
Pansy looked in the mirror and couldn't help but wonder if Daphne was right. She did look nice, and she couldn't see how Draco could resist her. She turned to smile nervously at her friend, who beamed back. "Good luck!"
"Thanks," said Pansy, her smile widening. "Do you know, I really think he might like it. I honestly think he'll pay me attention, or at least a little bit more attention than usual."
"I'm sure he will," said Daphne kindly. She watched Pansy walk to the door and disappear through it, making her way down to the common room.
Draco was standing by the entrance to the common room, a bored expression on his face. Pansy walked up to him, feeling nervous and excited at the same time. If he complimented her, even just once, she would be happy…
He opened his mouth to speak and she prepared herself for the words of admiration she was sure were about to come her way…
"You really don't suit that hairstyle."
A/N: This is probably quite bad but it was just something I wrote really quickly which I decided I might as well post to see what you think. Therefore, I'll really appreciate any reviews! :)
