So this is it. This will be the end of this adventure, the most special adventure she thinks she's ever had – and she's had so very many.

Of course she saw this coming, she sees everything coming, but actually living it is something entirely different.

She can feel it shutting down now, this tiny body. She can feel it bursting at the seams as it tries to contain the impossible hugeness that is a TARDIS. It won't be long now. Soon she'll break free of these human constraints and return to her normal state: namely being the heart and soul of a mad old time machine.

She's going to miss it though. Not being human of course, that's far too claustrophobic for her. She will miss, with an ache big enough to break her ancient heart, finally talking to her thief, her soul mate, her Doctor.

Her Doctor. Her beautiful idiot, the one who knows and loves her best – and, of course, she knows him, like no one in all of time and space. She is, and always will be, the Doctor's wife, his most faithful companion.

Now, as she comes to the end of this short but wonderful adventure, she finally understands why thatword "alive" makes her feel more sad than she's ever felt before – all life must end.

And it's not fair, she doesn't want to go, she can't leave him now.

Hundreds of years together, and she's only just got to say hello.
