Naegi was worried. Kirigiri stated that she would leave her door open in case something happened to Alter-Ego, of course he'd be worried. It's Nightime now, who knows who'd disobey the rule. He stared at his ceiling for a while, its been roughly 2 hours since the Nighttime announcement.
"Kiri..." Naegi whispered softly to himself, raising his arm over his head, "will you really be okay?"
He thought about all the possible outcomes, but he's had enough of himself. He's going into her room just to make sure she's fine.
Naegi raises himself off of his bed and makes his way to his door. Thinking one last time about whether or not it was a good idea, he opened the door and walked out.
He closed his door as quietly as possible and made his way to Kirigiri's room, which is thankfully next door.
No sound could be heard.
He peeks around just enough to see... no door.
"She really is just leaving it open," Naegi thought to himself.
He slowly makes his way to be directly infront of her doorway. He looks up to find a sight and sound he'd never imagine hearing.
Sniff. Sniff.
"Kirigiri... is crying..." Naegi thought to himself.
Naegi, for the first time, has seen Kirigiri expressing emotion truthfully. No iron mask. She's not staring into space, Kirigiri was truthfully crying. Naegi walks into her room as quietly and as slowly as possible.
Kirigiri was sitting on the iron plate side of her bed, completely broken. Naegi, fully comprehending that she was in despair, hugged Kirigiri over her stomach from behind.
Kirigiri noticed and was shocked, but couldn't do anything. She was too upset, too broken, too weak. However, she also felt comfortable. The hug is warm and genuine. She knows that Naegi was here to check on her, and she now knows that she really him.
"N-naegi," Kirigiri starts, drowning in tears.
"Yes?" Naegi replies wholeheartedly, slightly tightening his embrace.
Kirigiri places her gloved hands over Naegi's, asking hopefully, "S-Stay with m-me?"
Naegi smiles, then replies, "Always."
Kirigiri continued to relax in Naegi's embrace. Her tears are slowly wearing out, her breathing patterns are coming back.
Naegi notices her breathing and decides to loosen his grip, "you should get a little sleep. I'll keep wat-"
Kirigiri quickly grips Naegi's hands and wraps them around her stomach. "Or, we could just... watch each other..."
Naegi, failing to escape from her grip, give in and moves according to Kirigiri. She releases her grip on his hands and lies down on her bed, patting on a spot next to her for Naegi. He lies down next to her, sllowing Kirigiri to lay her head on his right arm. She places her hands on his chest and Naegi places his left hand over them.
"Don't leave me," Kirigiri says free of sorrow.
"Never," Naegi replies warmly.
The two after an hour of embracing end up falling asleep, hand in hand. Their fingers interlocked and both were smiling.
