Adultery they said

Incest they swore

Treason they spat

She received her punishment with a nod of pride

Guilty or not Henry wanted her gone

For she couldn't give him joy by baring him a son

"Good Christian people I have come hither to die, for according to law and by law I must die."

These were her last words she sang aloud with pride

The onlookers thought in all their minds

"What is the King thinking, she has committed no crime?"

"In Jesus Christ I do not fret, please take my soul without regret."

Kneeling down she was made blind, the device to hold her neck was not hard to find

The executioner himself was moved to tears

It was an act of mercy when he said

"Oh my Lord, where did I place my sword?"

It was said she was distracted

And so he acted

Causing her to feel no pain

Her soul then flew into the sky

Her soul did fly after no pain filled cry

Hey there! This is my first post...ever... God I'm so nervous.

I took a writing workshop and during my time there we had to do some prompts I wasn't really excited about. But after getting into them, I actually treasured some of the things I wrote : ) Well on the last night they strongly recommended for everyone to read a piece of literature of their own for the rest of the class. Some pieces I already read, so I wanted to write something new! I had a hard time thinking of something to write, until I just happened to remember the kindness of the executioner, I couldn't remember her name so I just Googled until I found Anne Boleyn. After two drafts this was the end result. A lot of people liked this one, out of the 30 people that presented; they said this was one of the ones that stuck out in their minds afterwards. I'm pretty proud of myself.

Hope you enjoyed! R&R

God bless
