So I was looking through my old stuff, going to finish a chapter of another story, when I rediscovered this and decided to finish it! I hope you all enjoy, keep in mind it is dates from before Season 3 so it's sweet, sweet Season 2 Finale angst! So it's basically an AU I guess?

Also can I just mention that there's way more SVTFOE on my profile than I thought there'd ever be? Like geez.

Star walked through the open portal solemnly. She tried not to think about what had just occurred moments ago, saying goodbye to her mother and leaving. For now, she needed to get away from everything. She walked into her room and sighed heavily. It hurt just to be here, she thought, as she looked around her bedroom, an exact copy of hers on Earth.

She had cast one spell before she left Earth, which had taken away her bedroom and reverted it back into the simple guest room as it had been before, and put her bedroom back as a new tower in the castle on Mewni.

She looked around wistfully, stopping and remembering old times, until her eyes landed on the laptop Marco and his parents had bought her, barley before Song Day.

Star thought for a moment before casting a few spells, and within minutes the wifi was up and running, connecting her to Earth via the internet.

It wasn't much, but it was all she had left that tied her to her second home. And she'd take any kind of connection to Earth she could get.

Star sighed for the millionth time that day. It'd been a year since she'd left Earth, and she still wasn't over it. She'd clung desperately to her laptop since then, barely spending time away from it.

She still followed Marco on social media and such, on an alternate account of course, and kept up with what was happening in his life. She used to have accounts back on Earth for this, but she didn't use them anymore for obvious reasons. There was a reason she'd only confessed to Marco just before she'd left Earth, after all, and if he would've found this simple way to contact her.. Well, she had long since decided that there was no reason to endure any more heartbreak, as much as it hurt her to keep distance from the boy she still loved.

She really didn't want to face the inevitable awkwardness and eventual rejection that would come with talking to him. So, simply enough, she didn't.

Social media wasn't the only thing Star used her laptop for, however. She'd also picked up a knack for digital art. She'd draw whatever she could think of, characters from her favorite TV shows that she'd found pirated versions of off of YouTube, things on Mewni, Marco..

She sometimes made animations too, never of Mewni or Marco of course, rather the former of the two. She even had a popular-to-her-standards YouTube channel to which she posted speedpaints and said animations! She unfortunately though, would never get to do a face reveal, once again for obvious reasons.

Even so, she wished she could tell someone about her experiences back on Earth.

Which had led to her current idea.

It was a really, really stupid idea.

What if Marco found it? Or anyone else back on Earth for that matter? What if her parents did and took away her laptop? What if anyone realized it was all true?

Despite all this, though, she still posted it, against her better judgement..

What was it, you ask?

A webcomic. All of her experiences of Earth, only with her friend's genders swapped and given new names to poorly disguise them, drawn and illustrated by Star.

Yeah, it was a pretty bad idea.

But Star decided she'd post it anyway. She was known for her impulsive decisions, after all. She'd worked so hard on this, so why let it go to waste?

(And yeah, she had worked really hard to erase all traces of herself, too, and she was letting that go to waste, but whatever. Who cares.)

Episode One of her comic was titled Comet Comes To Earth. Comet was the name she'd chosen for the male version of herself. There wasn't much difference between the boy and his real life counterpart, other than the obvious fact he was male and designed as such.

Marco's counterpart was Maria.

Star already regretted making this webcomic. Not enough to take it off the internet, but still. She sighed to herself. This really was a stupid, stupid idea.

"Hey guys!" Star greeted the camera, making a video directed to her YouTube fans. It was only audio, she could never be too careful of her old earth friends, after all.

Which made posting and promoting the stupid webcomic at all really bad idea, as she'd told herself about a million times now, but whatever, it was too late to go back now.

Well, technically it wasn't, but who cares, she still wasn't going to do it.

"I just wanted to make a quick announcement, uh, I made a web series!" She smiled awkwardly, not quite knowing how to make an announcement video. This would be the first time her subscribers would even hear her voice, after all.

"It's called, uh, C-Comet Vs. The Forces Of Evil! Um, feel free to check it out, l-links are in the description.. um, that's all, b-bye!" She ended the video.

After editing it and making sure everything was okay, she posted it. The screen was completely black the whole time, and the only important or noteworthy part of the short announcement was the audio itself. The links, as Star said earlier, were put into the description.

When Star posted her announcement video, she didn't know what to expect. But she could safely say she was pretty shocked at the results.

Her webcomic had gotten very popular very quickly. The comments section of the announcement video was filled with a slew of positive feedback(and plenty of comments saying how adorable her voice was, for some reason).

Star couldn't help but grin widely. The encouragement had drove her to make another episode, Party With A Pony, introducing Flying Prince Pony Head. It was honestly pretty ridiculous, in Star's opinion.

Hmm, maybe she could show her comic to Pony Head. There'd be no harm in that, after all, Pony Head certainly wasn't from Earth. Plus, maybe her friend could give her some feedback!

Star grinned excitedly. Maybe this wasn't such an awful idea after all.

By the episode Bloodmoon Ball, there was fanfiction of her comic. It wasn't much yet, but it was there.

It was strange, and heartwarming. Although Star actively avoided shipping fanfiction, especially of Comet and Maria. It was much too painful to read, as of now. But despite that, it was still a huge achievement to her.

People really liked her comic. And yeah, sometimes the people of the internet had a very strange way of showing that, but it's the thought that counts.

Star stared at the screen in awe. She was shocked at how much positive feedback Storm The Castle got. Writing it took a lot out of her, though, and she'd likely take a break before writing more. There was fanart of her comic now.

She'd nearly choked when the first art piece of Comet turned into a female came out. She quickly made and posted a speedpaint of the new, official genderswapped Comet and Maria onto her YouTube channel, making sure to make them look different from her and Marco and giving them different, new names. She didn't want anyone coincidentally naming them Star and/or Marco.

She also didn't want them to look to similar to the real things at all, which was kinda hard, considering they were genderswapped versions of her genderswapped characters based off of her and Marco, but whatever.

Thus, Sun and Mark, the official genderswapped Comet and Maria were born.

God, this was getting confusing fast. Star groaned in frustration. She couldn't tell if she loved this or hated it.

Star looked at the computer, in numb shock. She felt like she had been doing that a lot lately.

People seemed to be freaking the fuck out over Bon Bon The Birthday Clown.

Which, I guess made sense? Comet did lose his book, and Thesaurious (a name parodying Glossarayk was hard to come up with okay?!) as well. Not only that, but Maria and Jack were officially a thing, which, well.

About 90 percent of the fandom, also known as the Comria Shippers, were screaming in agony. Star should've been aware this would happen, hell, she'd even joked about Comria in the comic before!

Welp, too late to give any of the fans any closure now, because this was the "Mid-Season Finale", or the webcomic equivalent of it at least. Star needed a break damn it, and she wouldn't let herself not take it.

Star sighed. This was it. The end of her comic. It had been a ton of fun, but she was out of material. She didn't have the heart to tell the fans yet.

She had stayed up until 3 in the morning to finish and post it, so no one was going to see it just yet.

She'd just finished the "Season 2 Finale", with two of the most difficult comics to write yet, titled Face The Music and Crashing Comet (it was a shame she couldn't use her real name, otherwise she would've had the perfect pun for the title).

So, unless Marco came to rescue her from the heartache of staying on Mewni without him, which was extremely unlikely at this point, this was the end. She could make an alternate storyline, but that would be too painful to her, knowing it would never be real and Marco would never come.

So that's how the story would end, with Comet back on Mewni, suffering, and Maria being left to never see the boy again.

Yeah, she definitely didn't have the courage to tell her fans yet.

The story just felt so… incomplete.

But then again, it was. Star's story was incomplete. And that hurt her, badly.

She sighed, knowing by tomorrow the whole fandom would be screeching and the Comria Shippers would be brokenhearted. Hell, all the fans would be brokenhearted. There was no avoiding that.

Shuddering, Star shut her laptop and tried to sleep, with heavy spirits and an aching heart as her only companions. She mourned the Earth she'd left 3 years ago, and the webcomic that was going to inevitably die that she'd been writing for 2.

Y'know, the thing about having magic in your life long enough to get used to it only to have it taken away from you is that once it's gone the whole world just seems duller. That's something Marco knew all about.

It had been 3 years since Star left, and Marco's life had never been the same. Any time her name was even mentioned, it reopened a wound that would never fully heal. Even the very concept of magic brought back painful memories.

But the magic wasn't why Star was his best friend. It was just a painful side effect. That fact made things so much worse.

Even the night sky reminded Marco of the girl he'd lost, as the bright specks of light that she was named after glittered in the sky.

Janna and Star's other close friends were affected by this, too, but it clearly hurt Marco the most.

Ever since Star had left, Marco's life had gone downhill.

He'd broken up with Jackie a long time ago, but they were still close friends. His mourning left him too shaken to attempt to still pursue a relationship with Jackie, and honestly that sucked, but he was just grateful he hadn't lost her like he'd lost his best friend.

He'd tried to contact Star, despite knowing it probably wouldn't work. He'd sent texts but they weren't ever read, and tried to message her on social media accounts that were long since abandoned. But it would never work.

Marco sighed, trying to stop thinking of his old mewnian friend, and checked his phone. He blinked in surprise, seeing that he had a text from Janna. He opened it.

Janna: dude hly sht i neec to com over now irs imprtnt

He looked at the message, bewildered. What in the fresh hell happened that made Janna's grammar like this? She could just be doing it to annoy him, but this text seemed urgent. Besides, Janna usually just came over whenever she felt like it, so this was very abnormal.

Marco: What's wrong?

Janna: dud ill explain when iget there hply fuck

Marco: Okay

Marco felt a wave of concern wash over him. This was important. He only hoped Janna was okay.

Marco looked at Janna with concern. She looked like she'd sprinted the whole way there.

"Janna what happened?"

"Get your laptop."

"What?" He asked, confused by the request.

"Just do it." Janna said, panting and looking seriously shaken. Marco quickly retrieved the computer before heading back to the couch, where Janna was, and setting it between them so they could both see.

Janna quickly logged into the computer, Marco long since having learned and begrudgingly accepted that she knew all of his passwords. After a moment, she went to YouTube and pulled up a specific channel. Janna was scrolling quickly, so Marco couldn't see too much of it, but it looked to be a channel that did mainly speedpaints and animations.

Janna found the video she was looking for and clicked it. It was from about 2 years ago.

"Okay, so it all started when I was scrolling through this channel I recently subscribed to and I saw an announcement video. I decided to click it, since was announcing this webcomic that I decided maybe I'd check out, but when I heard this… just listen." Janna ranted, before clicking the video.

Marco listened as a vaguely familiar, soft voice told him and Janna that she'd created a webcomic. It didn't seem too important.

He was wrong.

"So why is this important…?" Marco asked, trailing off as Janna scrolled through the description to find a link.

"Marco, look at this." Janna murmured, going quiet as she clicked the link in the description. The webcomic was called Comet Vs. The Forces Of Evil.

It told a very familiar story. Marco felt himself tearing up a bit at the end of the first episode. Janna turned to him.

"Marco." She started, grinning tearfully, "We found her."

Oh my god this might actually be a decent story? I think I'm going to post it? If people like it I might actually finish it? So if you want more please review I guess? Oh boy, this is exciting, I'm actually posting something from my endless supply of unfinished fanfiction! Well, I hope you all liked it so far! See you next chapter?
