A/N: I wrote this drabble for bluesuzanne's (blueandblack's) recent anonymous drabble contest at SortofBeautiful. Now that the results are out, I can post it here! The prompt was meet me on your best behaviour, meet me at your worst from the song "Meet me at the Equinox" by Death Cab for Cutie.

Disclaimer: I don't own Twilight.

Easy as Breathing

He said that to love him was natural, that it was as easy as breathing. And in many ways it was. They fit each other; opposing pieces of one soul. They were mirror reflections – each the inverted image of the other. But sometimes loving each other was like breathing in a paper bag – difficult, exhausting and it left you breathless and light-headed. Because for all their matchedness, they weren't perfect. They were both flawed human beings. And like all flawed human beings, they fought and bickered and grated on each other at times. But ironically, that was what made them work. Because they knew that they didn't have to make an effort all the time; they didn't have to pretend. They could just be. And it was as easy as breathing.
