Stepping Up

Author's Note: This is a friendship drabble between Chase and Marshall not a slash.
Chase is in recovery from its puppy cold as he is disappointed about not able to go on in the play. Ryder walk towards Chase. "How are you feeling Chase"? Ryder asks Chase. "I have been better Ryder sir". Chase said to Ryder as he is feeling down about the play. "The play went well, Chase". Ryder said to Chase. Chase's ears droop some as Ryder mentioned about the play. "It is good to know, Ryder". Chase said to Ryder.
Ryder looks at Chase. "You know Chase. There will be other plays in the future. You know that don't you". Ryder said to Chase. "Yeah, it's just it is my first time getting the lead role and Marshall had to take my place at the last minute". Chase said to Ryder. Ryder nods to Chase. "I can understand that Chase". Ryder said to Chase as he pets Chase's forehead.
Marshall walks in the Lookout as the other pups are playing outside. Ryder looks at Marshall. "Hey Marshall", Ryder said to Marshall. Marshall looks at Ryder. "Hey Ryder", Marshall said to Ryder. Chase looks at Marshall. "I heard that the play went well". Chase said to Marshall. Marshall has a sheepish look on his face. "Well, to tell the truth I actually got a case of stage fright, and I messed up a few of the lines in the beginning of the show. Skye helped me though". Marshall said to Chase.
Chase nods to Marshall. "Skye is really helpful. Listen Marshall, I want to thank you for stepping up for me today". Chase said to Marshall. Marshall nods to Chase. "Your welcome Chase, that is what friends are for". Marshall said to Chase. Ryder smiles as the pups are having a nice moment. "Chase, can I ask you a favor"? Marshall asks Chase. Chase looks at Marshall. "Sure what is it"? Chase asks Marshall. "Next time there is a play, please don't work too hard enough to get your self sick. I don't want to get stage fright again". Marshall said to Chase. "You can count on that Marshall". Chase. Ryder smirks at Marshall about that comment. Ryder looks at Chase. "Ok Chase, you should get some more sleep so the other pups won't get your puppy cold". Ryder said to Chase.
Chase nods to Ryder as went to bed as Marshall and Ryder went outside. Surly enough, Marshall ends up getting Chase's puppy cold.
