A Dream too Far
He was just your average high school guy. A little out of place, mixed up in some areas, but still your average guy.
But at one's first glance, most would glare in surprise. With a dark tan, strong build, and tall frame, he almost looked as if he didn't belong in high school. His black hair was held back by a dark headband, which caused a small ahoge. A simple mustache and goatee sported his look, along with mysterious sunglasses that he wore continuously.
In truth, he did all these things to hide himself from the girl he loved. One accidental position of being crouched over a helpless, sleeping girl immediately dubbed him the title of a pervert. Embarrassed and horrified at this, he had forced himself to hide his identity from her. And yet, she was in the same class as him. Still having that childish demeanor – still with those adorable wagging pigtails to either side of her long dark locks…
She was an angel in his mind. Perfect and beautiful beyond all means. Why did she have to be so damn cute?! And yet, try as he might, his compliments were always dryly cut off by others. His love for her remained bottled inside his heart. Although he had tried confessing – even to her own face – Tenma Tsukamoto was oblivious, during which she had been practicing with him to help him confess to her younger sister – whom he did not love at the least!
He had to admit, despite her cuteness and sweetness, she was just stupid. Deadpan. Too blunt to put it. Stupid!
How hard was it for a girl to see a guy's feelings? Not to mention he was secretly a sensitive and bashful turtle hidden inside his shell.
She was everything with those sparkling eyes, gentle figure, adorably childish personality, and slightly clumsy drama that came with her exaggerated determination.
But…she was in love with him…
Karasuma.
He growled in disgust at the name. He imagined him as some freak. The boy's eyes were like an ocean of black, simply blank every minute of every day. How could Tenma love someone who acted like a soft-mouthed alien?! Every word was a blunt whisper. He never smiled. Yet, experience from picking fights showed that Karasuma was not one to play women. He was just a quiet guy who loved curry.
But, curry? Sure, food is delicious and all, but…
A sigh. A groan.
He knew he could not have her.
Her heart was set, despite his love. Whatever he did vanished slowly. She only thought of him as a friend, supposedly in love with her sister.
She was a dream…a heavenly dream…that was just too far to reach.
Author's Note
And…another one-shot! I love the TenmaxHarima pair, but it was never meant to be *sigh* This third-person perspective of Harima's thoughts was something I have been dying to do for a long time.
