Author's Note:
This poem is in Jake's POV....obviously. I think it goes well with the music from the movie...especially the flying scenes. Such great music... :D
They Called me Toruk Makto
Watching the Na'vi get torn down,
Was like getting my heart ripped out of my chest.
I couldn't breathe.
I don't wish to see the fire, the ash, the smoke--
I don't wish to dream anymore. Wake up. Wake up.
This is my life now.
Neytiri. The Omaticaya. Pandora.
Many have died. The tree…well,
Eywa will provide.
But, it's not like I'm used to having
Something worth believing in.
Breathe, Jake Sully. Breathe. Wake up.
But I am already awake.
The Na'vi say:
"I see you."
But the sky people are blind.
Banshees call to one another,
At my shoulder, Neytiri rejoices.
And as the wind rushes through my head
I pass through the eyes of Eywa
And I am all there is.
When I wake up, I have dreams of flying.
When I breathe, I breathe in colors.
Water flows past my head--
Feel its touch, the coolest of fingers.
The air is water in my mouth
And I want to swallow and
Taste it on my tongue.
I feel the wind rush through my head
And all at once we are falling--
One of the sky people,
Part of the sky.
