Yes, another inconsequential drabble. But all of you love it, admit it. So Enjoy. And No, I don't own Naruto. Just this random, fluffy plotline.
"Tachi"
"Hn?"
"I- I have a request."
"Aa?"
"Always kiss me goodnight Every night. Forever."
"Why?"
"Because tomorrows are always uncertain."
"That- It is a frivolous request." He stated without glancing up from the scroll he was reading.
She rolled onto her back and smiled faintly at the man lying beside her.
"I- I know." She tried to mask the disappointment that flitted through her eyes.
"Ah, never mind I said anything! I was just being silly."
She knew her request was childish, but it was something her mother had told her when she was young. And ever since her mother's death she had tried to live life to the fullest.
In their profession especially, you never knew what day would end up being your last. It made Sakura want to hold those she cherished even closer.
She closed her eyes, deciding that she should probably get some sleep, seeing as how she had an early morning at the hospital.
She felt the bed dip, and a light pressure pressed to her lips.
Her eyes fluttered open in surprise, as Itachi pulled away.
"Your request implies that we will in fact be together forever," he murmured as he looked down on her face.
She tried to hide her crestfallen expression. "Oh, well I mean, maybe not forever, but you know…as long as we're together, and, I know it's really silly so never mind-"
Itachi cut her off with another kiss.
"I am not adverse to the idea of forever, Sakura," he whispered into her ear.
Her mouth popped open in an 'O.'
"..And as for your request, no matter how frivolous, I will see to it that it is fulfilled in its fullest. Every night. Forever."
Tears welled up in Sakura's eyes as she buried herself into his chest.
"Thank you."
A/N: I think this is like, the shortest oneshot I have EVER written. Seriously. It's only 330 words. Wow.
But anywho, I am now officially on winter holiday, and I found this old thing and decided to finish it!
