There are many things that Team 7 doesn't know about their sensei, Hatake Kakashi. One, they still don't know what he looks like under his mask, and two, he really has more than one tattoo. The one they know about is the one on his upper right arm, the symbol from ANBU, but he also has a Celtic knot on his left ring finger, with Iuka's name in it, and a medium size tattoo on his back of a scarecrow ridding the back of a dolphin. So, it was a shock to them when during a battle in the rainforest of the Mist Village, when his vest and shirt was removed by the blade of the sword from one of the seven sword's men, that they saw this tattoo and they realized that he was claimed by Iruka and that, outside of them and what few friends he had, his main reason for fighting to stay alive was for his Iruka.
Meanwhile, back home….
Iruka was double over in pain in front of his class. One of his students ran and found Asuma- sensei teaching his students, along with one of the laziest ninja in the village, Nara Shikamaru. "Asuma- sensei, please, come quick, Iruka- sensei is, is, oh I don't know, just please come!" and without second thought, Asuma and Shikamaru ran with the little boy to Iruka's classroom and saw Iruka was passed out. Asuma quickly and carefully picked up Iruka and whispered to Shikamaru, "Shika- koi, something was defiantly happened to Kakashi, dismiss the students and then join me at the hospital" Shikamaru shock his head and did as he was told. Moments later, he arrived at the hospital and saw that his former sensei was passed out, but couldn't help but wonder what happen to Kakashi- sensei. It wasn't until later that night when the three chunin were carrying their sensei into the hospital's lobby that he and Asuma found out what happen. Kakashi was hanging onto life and the medical ninja knew what they had to do. They took Kakashi to Iruka's room and after they bandaged him up and filled him with painkillers, they found a bed that was large enough and put them in it and then the head medical ninja went to the waiting room where Asuma and the four chunin awaited the news. "They are with each other. Their chakra will connect with each other and they will heal each other, it's just going to take time, but they will make it" and then he left. That is when Team 7 knew what love really was, what finding your soul mate meant, and they realized that they where lucky to have their soul mates, Kakashi and Iruka, Asuma and Shikamaru, Naruto and Sasuke, and Sakura and Lee. They where all claimed.
