Heero glanced at Relena before looking down at the ground. It felt as if his heart was plummeting and his emotionless mask could barely hide. "Relena . . . I'm sorry . . ." Somehow his voice his voice remain monotone.

I could never be, I could never feel free without your love.

Relena turned away; hiding her tears. "How could you?" Her heart felt as if it was dying. Shattering into a million pieces. 'Doesn't he care?'

You can count on me. Truly honestly. You can trust my love.

"I can't, Heero," Relena sighed. "I . . . I . . ." Heero tried to reply. The words wouldn't come. All the things he had been trained to do, none of it helped him now.

Lying close to you makes me feel so blue. Feelings fade away.

Relena spun around. "Heero, I loved you." Her voice cracking with her grief. 'Heero, I love you.'

If its really true, I'll be missing you where's the love we had?

"Relena . . ." Heero looked ashamed. "War," Relena stated. "War did this to us!" Heero frowned slightly. He couldn't help it if he was trained to be a soldier. This wasn't the time to talk of peace and war, this was supposed to be about them.

My desire burns like fire, You're as cold as ice.

"Heero stop. Me or your . . . your missions?" Her eyes were cold as they burned with an inner light of her rage. Her emotions guided her actions. His emotions had to be kept hidden.

Don't fool me anymore. Don't touch me anymore. You're as cold as ice.

"Relena, I . . . I have to fight." 'For you.' He didn't have a choice in the matter. The war was going on and the Earth needed the Gundam pilots to defend it.

Oh - I don't know what's right now . . .

"Good-bye, Heero," Relena sobbed as she ran out. He watched her run. He let her get away. His mind over ran his heart.

Oh - Love is gone and you're as cold as ice.

"I love you . . . Relena . . . ." Maybe his heart had some strength after all.

Relena ran. "What did I see in him?" Her legs moved under her. Taking her as far away from Heero as possible.

Lying close you, makes me feel so blue, feelings fade away.

"I loved him . . . do I still do?" She froze. Could she still love and care for him when he didn't care or love her?

If its really true, I'll be missing you where's the love we had?

"I do . . . I do love him! But why?" It hurt her heart. All the pain loving him caused but it brought so much joy too. That hurt too.

"Why?" she screamed to the night. "Tell me!" She wanted answers. She wanted relief from the pounding ache in her head and heart. Everything hurt.

Don't fool me anymore don't touch me anymore. You're as cold as ice.

And then he came. "Because I do too," Heero said appearing beside her. "I love you. Her eyes caught his and she knew everything. And it didn't hurt anymore.
