The Message I Left For Myself
In Timeless Harry left a message for himself, so did Chakotay
As Harry left me, I strolled along the icy corridors of voyager alone. I felt sad, but that sadness could not compare as I walked by her quarters. As a few tears left my eyes, an idea sprung to life.
I accessed a computer station and encrypted a message to me. Something I hoped deep inside of me that I would receive in the past.
Dear Chakotay,
I know this must sound funny, reading this letter. But as I stand here as you, only older and greyer something came to mind that I must tell you. Harry blames himself for the accident- for killing the voyager crew. But you know the truth Chakotay you have been killing yourself for years with guilt. Guilt about her- Guilt about leaving her behind- on voyager alone- to die alone- and you promised to always be by her side.
Be honest with yourself Chakotay, you know how much you care for her. I know how many times you have lied awake at night thinking about her. Chakotay how many times have you thought- If only I had broken protocol once, and just kissed her, maybe then she would be mine.
Chakotay just do it! Don't be a softy for the rest of your life. Otherwise you will become old and bitter, No one knows me better than I do, because I am you. May the spirits be with you Chakotay, always?
I finished my letter to myself and hid it in the ships database. Hoping that my younger self would see it.
